ultimate mogger vehicle. no question about it. only the tr-x is remotely comparable, but the hilarious mileage is a knock against it. raptor reigns supreme

Nope. The Ram killed it. Maybe Ford can get back to the top but not with a V6.

Not a fan of the massive grills on modern cars, I'm kind of waiting for this fad to pass before I look at something new. Beyond that, looks pretty great.

Meh some ram 3500 / Ford F-250 or 350 with lifts still noticeably bigger then me and louder. But NGL some old man with a mustache always wants to talk about my truck or trailer at campsites. Itβs like they havenβt seen one without the cheesy decals all over it before. Raptor + airstream is how we mog drivin round Idaho.
Itβs actually pretty quiet which I prefer cuz I donβt like being loud.
But no, bigger louder trucks and faster sports cars. Where it mogs is offroading. Fire danger is to bad right now around here to go tear chit up unfortunately.
For me itβs just a great dd cuz I haul wood multiple times a week, take a small trailer camping so no need for a larger towing capacity, like to drive out into the middle of nowhere and setup a hammock, huckleberry picking etc.. I enjoy a car that is fast and can accelerate, does well in the snow, backcountry skiing, etc..
Itβs a great all around vehicle that is fun to drive on daily and gas isnβt terrible. But theirs bigger louder trucks and faster cars, so always a bigger mogger out there while driving one, until you get off-road which not many people do. Even then at least around here sometimes itβs to big to squeeze into areas.

From the reviews I've read, the thing is an absolute monster and impressively capable from the factory... off road.
But king of the actual road? nah. Too many variables make that a very broad question - opinions will vary greatly.
Plenty of cars that are faster, better on gas, more luxurious, more comfortable, cooler features... etc. Pick a category and more clearly define what you mean by king of the road.

Best to have a nice car or even a ute for everyday driving and perhaps have a truck as a spare if you need to move something big.
I have a 4dr jeep with a trailer if I need to move things but everyday driving a nice car is so much more comfortable, quiet, optioned, quick, better gas mileage, less wind movement on a highway, etc. Which sounds more "grown up"?

Even if the RAM outperforms the Raptor, you still have the embarrassment of owning a Dodge.

As far as king of the road at this point I've driven pretty much everything except a Lambo or equivalent super car. IMO the true king of the road status would be a lifted super duty. In terms of ride quality, interior space, visiblity, mogging other vehicles on the road, etc. If your in a city its not an option because of parking. And it can be hard to whip a u-turn. But in places without large dividers you can just roll over standard curbs or medians with no issue.
Hands down the favorite vehicle I've ever driven was my buddies lifted super duty. Not in the pic but it was similar. Just pure masculine energy on the road. And a Raptor is a small vehicle in comparison.
If I ever get my side business off the ground enough to justify getting one I plan on it. Obviously I'll keep a sport-bike and maybe a fast car for quick runs to the city. But all other driving a super duty wins it.
