I thought when everything reopens the main thing to fixate on was deaths & hospitalisations. Getting a virus is inevitable. Vaccinations were supposed to break the link between cases & hospitalations & even hospitalisations & death.

Therefore, you're looking at the wrong numbers.

I think when all is said and done, we will find that while our current vaccines did well against the older strains, this new strain will be problematic. This doesn't bode well for us given our rapidly increasing case count and the fact that delta is the main strain now.

It is still highly recommended you take the vaccine, but I think masking and caution is warranted given the circumstances.

Yeah there are conflicting reports on this. Prior trials suggested the Pfizer vaccine was still good. But considering how much of Israel was vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine, they didn't see the improvement expected. We are also seeing delta spreading to vaccinated people to an extent more than people expected.

Yeah. This is not good.

And there's no way they will able to rush out a new vaccine catered to delta in time. I think we will be balls deep in lockdowns again in a few weeks. I hope I am wrong.

Well the vaccine still helps reduce mortality and severity somewhat, but yea at this point it is unfair to blame unvaxxed ppl for the rise exclusively. The rise is due to spread. That being said, vaccination did help reduce infections and deaths from prior strains. Being unvaxxed is retarded, but yea I won't blame them exclusively for the spread of Delta. I think we just aren't prepared for Delta.
