The virus is not something to be afraid of, and the media has an extensive track record of misrepresenting science.
Maybe people don't wear a mask because it's uncomfortable, but personally I've never worn one because it's not rational.
I actually had a box of medical grade masks before the pandemic and just gave them away to a maintenance worker.
Neither is it a common sight in my neighborhood, and this is a place where people generally don't trust the government.
People here aren't wearing masks or getting inoculated for it, yet they are not dropping dead in the street as reported in China where the crisis began.

You try to hide it behind a thin facade but everyone sees it. People like you are pernicious and predatory.
Beacon of reason coming from a pro-lockdown Lefty. Lmfao the irony is making my back teeth ache practically. You mention the beaches but don't talk about a year of burning, looting and murdering and rioting having any impact. Absolutely horrible thinking capabilities. Beach goers were more dangerous than millions of rioters and looters running amok for the entire pandemic.

This is where all the Americans are moving now, because the lockdowns are both denying our basic rights and devastating education, economies, and healthcare.

There has been a strict pattern in cases in Poland. Government opens chit up, people start holding parties, meeting family members and cases rises to 40k a day a week later. Close chit, it goes down quickly. No curfews implemented. Now that vaccinations are freely rolled out and mask mandates are still upheld indoors, cases have flat lined. We'll see what happens when delta gets here, because tourism, but Poland has had one of the least authoritarian approaches compared to other countries and handled the pandemic much better still. So those twats in Warszawa can do one. That's become such a western city slowly filling with LGBTQ types over the years every other city calls it a joke.

LOL they can enjoy them selves - i'll be lifting in my garage and doing cardio in my area, eating a delicious post workout meal with a cool beverage.
This shall be followed with some work from home so i have less on the weekdays, then I shall have a restful lay on my bed whilst i watch the latest flicks in 4K HDR ATMOS, then i may misc for a bit, before i retire to my gaming PC set up and play some battlefield.

I assume you deem it irrational because it does nothing, I am on the page that it's such a trivial thing to complain about. It just comes off as "muh rights", and when I'm criticized for wearing one of my own choice then I'm really not seeing the logic.
Edit: Not that you've done that, you've said nothing that implies it.

That's the kind of government that fascist Germany lived under, and the same goes for Stalin's Russia and the modern state of Mao's China.
Governments should not have the right to take away your freedom like that. That goes against everything the West stands for.
Unsurprisingly, world governments are modeling their lockdown policies after China where the crisis began.
It's not a health crisis, it's a human rights crisis and false representation of medical science is used to manufacture consent.

Something else worth pointing out, major online media companies have released policies that explicitly and openly ban these discussions.
That alone should be a sign that this is simply a power grab. Silencing dissent is a tried and true fascist tactic.
I know this board is full of goofy jokes and things like that, but it's one of the last few popular forums that allows this sort of debate.
If an open social media platform will not allow dissent against governments, then it is neither open nor useful in a democracy.
What has developed in the wake of the crisis is a powerful and international underground current for basic human rights.
These protests represent this movement, and I support them 100%.

Does that mean that the argument is "Government doesn't know what's best for the populace, so should not enforce what it thinks is best for the populace". Ignoring any potential self-interest, because I think we can agree on that.
So if this arises again, things like mask mandates, curfews and closures would go to a vote? Then it would likely be a resounding "no". Democratic? Absolutely. The right result? Time would tell. My response is obviously that the populace doesn't know what's best either, especially evident in the past decade. So we lose on both accounts - government dictated, or democratically voted. Votes are also more easily manipulated now than ever, whether by the government or other bodies.
As to your other post, I've been watching media go to chit for many a year now, which is why I just want to laugh when someone assumes I'm a shill because I disagree with them or share ONE sentiment that social media is a proponent of. Britain worships social media, while they protest they'll still post pictures of it on their ******** for likes. Poland is also going in that direction with Instagram and schools are encouraging FB groups.
I will never be an advocate of policing speech and anti-government, anti-media rhetoric. I just wish that public protesting wasn't such a huge potential for a viral spread. I do garner some appreciation that the Polish government wasn't "Welcome Refugees", but also have distaste for their connections to the catholic church. I digress.

You actually used a percentage of total impossible compliance. You chose to ignore the context of the situation just to say something. Strong brainlet.
You have been flattened in this thread by multiple posters, just stop. Your position is unsustainable.

I'm not saying you're a shill, I'm saying that I can tell how you have been influenced. I know people in my life on both sides of the political debate, and your view aligns with American liberalism. Much of American liberalism is based on the prevailing philosophy and policies of Europe.
We disagree on the fundamental notion that the virus is a public threat, and that's what all of this relies on. My perspective comes from a preference for skepticism that is based on evidence. I would rather come to my own conclusions based on the science than assume that a media company has a monopoly on rational thought.
The government is not some pure and altruistic entity, it is often the opposite. The people should be able to hold their governments accountable in an open society, but a lockdown government is not a free society. It's hard for many to accept that the government has your best interests in mind when it's clear that they are susceptible to corruption. You could even say that corruption is the rule and not the exception.
We've seen examples where the idea of public good and public health is exploited by governments to enact harmful and authoritarian measures.
Today, we are living through a historical event that represents the continuation of this line of thought.

In 2017 there were1,255 deaths due to influenza, recording a standardised death rate of 3.9 per 100,000 persons. This is a significant increase from 2016 where 464 influenza deaths were recorded. An individual dying from influenza in 2017 was most likely to be female, aged over 75 years, have multiple co-morbiditiesand living in the eastern states of Australia.
NONE of this kind of data is shared when they announce covid deaths, they are singling out covid deaths and doing a whole news story on it yet providing absolutely no detailed information.
Imagine if they stopped the presses for every single flu death in 2017-2018-2019, there would be a death every single day and thousands of cases a day.
We are being played.

I never denied people went to a beach and that there's some stupid fukkin footage of it, who cares? That chit doesn't matter. This virus is never going to go away!! Everything you're bringing up is NONSENSE.
Tell me - and I don't know what kind of faux intellectualism you plan to use for this - do you TRULY BELIEVE this virus is going to go away? It's here forever, what's your big suggestion now that it's never going away, chicken little? Please explain.

RIP, of course, but month-long lockdowns of entire cities over that is absolute insanity. Literal insanity and mental illness. No one could seriously believe these people care about minute handfuls of elderly already on their deathbeds.
Back off, Warchild.
Seriously.

Indeed we do disagree on its threat, and we could go back and forth on that one. A waste of both our time. There is definitely warranted grievance towards the governments involved, the British government has been flip-flopping from the outset that's clear. But faith should be lost in people too as well as the government - yes it's moving the goal posts slightly but I can see a sentiment of "The government is to wholly to blame" spreading. It comes off as scapegoating.
There has been an increasing rate of abandoning public accountability and and increasing rate of "let's protest (or riot)" in turn for any event of our times, and Covid has become a 2 year long example of it. That was what prompted my original response here. I'm glad it prompted your input.

Your agenda is clear.
I never denied people went to a beach and that there's some stupid fukkin footage of it, who cares? That chit doesn't matter. This virus is never going to go away!! Everything you're bringing up is NONSENSE.

Then you changed it to only essential members of society.
Now you admit that non-essential members were out and about, be it beachgoers or BLM idiots? You have to see that you're back pedaling.
I didn't "fail to mention" the protests, I just didn't use it an example. While we're at it we should mention ANTIFA, but to be honest I don't see the difference these days - just a bunch of entitled kids looking for an excuse to ruin people's lives for ****s and giggles. But once again, at first you insisted everyone followed the rules and now you're agreeing to examples who didn't.
A gathering is a gathering by the way. Whether it's a riot or people chilling on the beach. To assume one cannot be responsible for a spread while the other is, is quite mind-boggling.
Once again. Saying "People went to a beach" (which you are now saying happened) is contrary to "everyone followed guidelines". So why start with that if later you're going to say "Actually there were people on beaches and rioters", completely disassembling your original claim. Or am I just someone to throw insults at and feel some warped sense of catharsis because you're pissed at the situation.

Lockdowns are not great but it's as if taking personal accountability got SARS and died 10 years ago.

My province in Canada is STILL LOCKED DOWN.
They don't work, period. Your position is unsustainable and you're refusing to admit it because you, like the governments, have to double down on your bullchit decision making and opinions up to this point. It hurts to admit all this was pointless.
You can engage in semantics all you want. The virus and its assorted strains are here to stay forever. What's your solution? I ask again. PERMANENT MASKS AND LOCKDOWNS?
Nature has to run its course, we can't win this one. The virus and humanity have to coexist. People like you are insisting on MADNESS.
Edit - I like how you keep bringing up that apparently I denied beachgoers. Show me where I said none of that happened and I'll rep you for life (you can't, you're just making bullchit up as usual with paniccels).
