Each time I visit Japan I realize more and more how fuked the U.S. is (srs)(textwall)

Let me start with the fact that the U.S is not even close to one of the worst by a long shot. And that there are other countries similar to the U.S. (In the anglosphere etc) that have the same issues, but I can only speak validly to what I know, and I haven't lived in those other countries. I've only lived in the U.S., in Latin America and spent significant time in Japan. Also when it comes to certain liberties such as firearms ownership, etc the U.S. is almost standing alone in that regard, though its far from "the most free" considering that in the U.S. you cant do or think or say or make some of the most basic chit because its vast overreaching lawbooks contain something against it put there by some concerned person X years ago. I'm honestly quite conflicted because each time I accompany the wife and kid to visit grandparents I end up asking myself "what the fuk are we doing" living in the US and settling for lesser chit when we can live in a place that, objectively, is much, much , much better.

Here's just off the top of my head some of the things making Japan>U.S.

>The place is clean/isn't falling apart. Aside from the more wealthy areas/neighborhoods/SoDoSoPa areas, the U.S. is starting to look like chit and falling apart. Fuking trash everywhere, graffiti literally on every fuking surface, public transport is dirty, has trash, used needles etc. It blew my mind when I was going through a car tunnel the other day of which there are plenty and there's no graffiti. That would be impossible in the US. A tunnel or overpass with no graffiti? No trash or wrappers on the side of the road, trash neatly placed into community bins and separated by type. Every store and restaurant and rest stop and gas station is clean, fresh and upkept.

>Family businesses and local economy still exists. While Japan is very consumerist, and large corporations are of course a thing and hold good market share, they don't have mission to push out and wreck every family owned business in existence (funnily enough except American Amazon and Chinese Tencent). Family owned small businesses are everywhere, on every street corner. Ranging from restaurants, barbershops, craft stores, farms, orchards, construction, contractors, bookstores, etc etc. All alive and well and thriving. Oh but the Nikkei hasn't skytocketed in 30 years so the economy in the country must suck right? Only if you use the chosen people's measures of success.

>Along with the above, the consumerist culture is actually fuking worth the money you spend on it. Convenience is big for these kunts and so is quality and customer service. I've literally never had a bad customer service experience or bought a bad product in Japan. Even their dollar/3 dollar stores, which are plenty, every product is quality, well constructed, lasts. Obviously not as much as a regular product, but dollar tree/family dollar/dollar general trash isn't found here. Dollar store in US=poverty and chit, dollar store in Japan=good quality for price and convenience. Regular stores have good quality products and a great variety of it, some ingenious stuff too that doesn't even exist in the U.S.

>Related to the above is the quality of the fuking food. Srs. Where can you get a good, cheap, healthy meal in the U.S. at a moment's notice? Fuking nowhere. The only candidate might be logal grocery stores but the meals there cost upwards of 12 to 16 dollars. GO to any convenience store in Japan (7-11, Lawson etc), a full aisle of ready to eat, freshly made and packaged lunches with rice, pasta, chicken, beef, pork, ramen, etc etc. Fast food in Japan is a bowl of rice with your choice of meat, a salad and sides. Fast food in US is your choice of a fuking burger and fries from one of the 20 burger restaurants. Japan cost - 5 to 6 dollars. US cost - 8-15 dollars. Restaurants are varied, plentiful and cheap. Obviously chains exist but the majority of restaurants are family owned and local. Reminds me of the restaurant culture in Colombia.

> Great variety of baked goods, treats, sweet other than your processed sugar garbage in the US. Nothing other than candy bars, hostess pastries similar **** in the US. Go to any mall or rest stop on the highway and you'll find nicely packaged patries, freshly made, of a crazy variety. Usually people in Japan gift each others pastries like these when visiting each other's homes etc because its so varied you can always get something new. US= twinkies, lays chips, candy bars, other trash. Japan=fresh croissants, castella, mochi, manju, etc

>Violent crime is practically non existent. No urban youths. No thug culture. Every song isn't chitty rap. No white trash, almost no burglaries, no stickups, no carjackings, no being robbed at gunpoint. Crime is so low that there's basically no reason to carry like in the U.S. All of this is because of almost no illicit drug use and sale. Stoners will seethe but even MJ is taboo as fuk. Furthermore the racial tension that is destroying the U.S. and tearing it apart is nonexistent because of almost complete ethnic homogeneity. ALso no constant screeching about racism this racism that, BLM, etc.

>Along with the above, no "progressives", no screeching about privilege, no SJW nonsense, people aren't losing their minds about tranny and gender chit, and yet Japan is less prudish, sexually restrictive and morally panicked about sex than the US being hyper puritan and hypersexual at the same time. And yet while sex isn't held taboo (porn mags and chit out in the open next to regular mags at convenience stores, pinup models/girls is a HUGE culture compared to US and are present on cover of boys/teen magazines, sex toys etc aren't restricted to adult stores), the amount of sexual crimes and rape are extremely low.

>Freedom of speech/expression pretty much on par with US and in some cases more. Defamation and libel laws are strict against private parties. Small claims suits are much more common and especially against companies, and yet people don't sue over dumb chit like McDonald's coffee. Instead over breach of contract and abuse against customers that's so common in the US now. In fact I'd say freedom of expression is even stronger in the fact that people aren't getting censored and canceled over political opinions or going against SJW chit in Japan. Most infamously freedom of expression is so strong that hentai artists frequently draw ped0 hentai and its a common hentai theme, sold in porn shops etc, and even they don't get censored or canceled by gov or private party. Brothels and the like operate without government ****ting on everyone's parade. I'd say Japan is more in line with Sweden and Norway when it comes to freedom of speech/expression. People in the U.S. seem to have the idea that "Freedom" = allowed to shoot unpractical firearms at a range, country music and pickup trucks while the corpogovernment schlongs you sideways for little in return.

> Government isn't trying to constantly chit on and fuk over its citizens. Even going to the DMV/city office etc is a breeze compared to the U.S. where you go some some office filled with sassy black women and wait 4 hours to do something. Civil servants in Japan bend over backwards to assist people. Politicians, for the most part, not whoring out to corporations and spending the entire budget on corporate welfare and crony capitalist chit. They aren't trying to fill the country with illegal immigrants and refugees for votes. Government isn't trying to raid everyone's house over bullchit, practicing civil asset forfeiture, making their citizens abroad pay taxes and reveal all private financial details to the IRS, protecting BLM thugs while they burn down people's chit, figuring out some new way to restrict speech or ban this or ban that or ban that other thing, your taxes actually go to something of use for you, you get benift out of the taxes at a personal level vs US where they are starting to tax out the ass with none of the benefits high taxed nations provide to citizens. Lack of regulations and gov intervention/fascism leads to lower prices for schooling, university etc so no student loan racket. This is ESPECIALLY felt in the real estate market.

>Houses in Japan outside of the very rural countryside are well constructed and aren't rising in price the older and chittier they get. Homes aren't seen as an investment vehicle or market or business which keeps the home price bubbles from happening here like in the US where nobody cna buy a fuking house any more. People don't usually inhabit old houses and so either live them for life or sell them to someone who will raze it down to build a new one on the land and usually build their homes. Building a new home costs LESS than buying some chitty decrepit house built in the 60's in the US for less than half the price. Because of less regulations, much easier to qualify for and get a mortgage compared to jumping through hoops in the US. Blackrock not buying up every house they can to monopolize home ownership. AS backwards as it might seem to someone who doesn't use their brain about it, the US government is more fascists (by the true sense of the word, not "neonazi fascist) than the Japanese government. Prefectures also have more autonomy than states seem to have in the US, funnily enough. Government not trying to mandate everything at threat of force/taking yoru chit. When I told my wife that multiple places in the US are trying to mandate not being able to enter businesses, ride transportation, go to school, enter buildings etc because they are not vaccinated she straight up did not believe me, thought I was exaggerating and said "that's the kind of stuff that happens in North Korea wtf?". This woman isn't some card carrying, flag waving patriotic American, she's just a PR. And yet seems to have more sense of personal liberty than half of the US and its corrupt bastard politicians. Even ASKING about people's personal medical matters would be unthinkable in Japan. THeir "lockdowns" are suggestions and people's businesses haven't' gotten shuttered and people jailed for not obeying the government.

>Things are generally cheaper. Srs. Some things can be much more expensive especially in Tokyo, but for the most part food, housing, childcare, consumer products, raw materials, electronics, etc are cheaper in JApan than the US. ESPECIALLY food other than beef. Blows my mind how fuking expensive eating out in the US is now. Its insane. And yet the food here is fresher. I never in my life ha d a nice tasting, sweet peach and rarely ate sweet strawberries in the US except if I bought some expensive organic whole foods chit. Then I ate fruit in Japan and it blew my fuking mind how much better it was. "organic" is standard. The system is a very good blend of capitalist and socialist with the capitalism done right and the socialism done right.

>While spirituality seems to be dying in the US, spirituality here is still going strong with shrines, temples and even Catholic churches well attended and plentiful. General culture of respect and decency towards others. Respect for elders and children. Children actually grow up in a good fuking environment. They can fuking walk to school safely and take the train and chit at 5 or 6 years old. Just the other day we went to a small mall in our town and there's a whole play area for kids with performers and rides and all the kids having a great fuking time, parks are plentiful and clean and safe. NATURE is fuking plentiful and present everywhere compared to the growing concrete jungles of American cities and suburbs. Hard to describe it unless you see it in person here. I honestly feel bad having my kid grow up in the US nowadays when she has the passport to grow up in Japan srs. Education is better and more strict. Schools are safe and have more culture. Uniformity and cohesion is taught from a young age and respected. Children's media and shows are actually well made, engaging and aren't filled with weird chit like teletubbies and boo bahs and tranny parades in blues clues. The rainbow is still seen as a symbol of refraction in light and a fantastical land of happiness for kids and not some LGBTQRIGKF+ ****fest.

I can probably think of more that I'll post in another post or edit but those are big ones I can think of. The most important difference honestly probably being the difference in crime/cleanliness/thug culture, affordability of housing and thriving local economy, and the fact the government isn't constantly trying to grow more and more fascist/authoritarian and intrusive as seems to be going in the US. I love the US, serious. I love the idea behind it. I think it used to be a powerhouse and had a great culture and people and now its just turned to chit. The older I get the more I realize that. When I used to be in the military I had such an idealized view of the US and was very patriotic etc and when you take off the rose colored glasses you see its not the case.

I'm tired of the constant political bickering and disunity and nonsense and I'm tired of culture and companies and government catering to the lowest denominator in society and having wite trash and gangsta culture permeate fuking everything in the country. Only downside I see is not being able to own firearms anymore. I'm sure this can apply to other countries such as those in the scnadinavian world, so what do you all think?

Read the first few sentences of the points and it all comes down to culture. That is a big portion why they are doing so well.

just lol at travelcels and yellow fevercels who equate visiting a country to living there. just more anti American pheggotry from defectors who think the grass is always greener. I have been Japan once and can say it would suck without money, hence why salarymen work 80 hr weeks just to pay rent

unless you're asian or something then yeah living in Japan might be preferable

How much do you actually know about Japan though? My cousin has lived out there for years and yet what she knows is still really from an outsiders perspective.

What’s the mindset of a teen or middle aged man living in the suburbs for example.

This is true and honestly, aside from government corruption and drugs, the biggest reason why theyre doing so well. American culture is ****ed.

I think I have a very good familiarity with Japan, and not only its ups but downsides. Overall I've spent about 3 years in Japan although 2 of those was being stationed there but I already knew my wife and so spent much more time in the culture than if I didn't. I understand what you are talking about and that vacation=/= living in a country but I'm way past vacation mode. When we visit we're not doing tourist chit we're living with her family for a month or two and at last for me that means working in the family business and having normal every day life there, not visiting pokemon world. NOne of the things I mentioned are changed with my experience in the country though, they are objective analysis of the country whether or not someone likes it.

Lived there for 5 years. So many awesome things about it and the 'honeymoon' period was great.

But after a while you start to see the bad things. Never, ever marry a Japanese woman. Westerners think that they're traditional and submissive. But Westerners can't tell the difference between scummy Japanese girls and the better ones. So you end up with these lawyers and bankers marrying low class Japanese women. It's like, if you're a doctor or something in the States you wouldn't marry trailer park trash right? But the equivalent in Japan happens a lot and I don't know one Western guy who was happily married to a Japanese woman. They are extremely controlling and bitchy. Their MO is ultimately to divorce the guy, claim abuse and then take the kids to their parents. Japan finally signed up to the Hague convention but it's meaningless as the police won't enforce it. So you find all these Western guys who get to see their kids once in a blue moon and have to pay the b*tch and her family through the nose for it.

The justice system is also completely f**ked. If you happen to get caught up in it the Jap police won't give a single fukk about your side of the story (assuming there's a Japanese person involved) and you can be detaines for weeks without being charged or having access to a lawyer. In fact lawyers aren't even allowed to sit in with interviews with police.

Plus you're not going to make close Japanese friends, probably even if you speak fluent Japanese. They'll use you to practice English but that's pretty much as far as it goes. Their mentality is just too different.

I love Japan but most foreigners stay there for a couple of years and then leave and there's a reason behind that. Westerners tend to idolise Japan and there is much to admire but until you have lived there you don't see the bad stuff.

I've heard about this, specifically the "women are not as trad as you think" mentality. According to another source feminism does run rampant over there, with women being treated special, probably even moreso than over here in America. Women get promotions, get the benefit of the doubt in legal and civil disputes, etc. There's no surprise that there are lot of Japanese incel types over there (hikikomori) and it's because the social dynamics with regards to gender relations are turned up over there; they are more extreme than they are over here in the west.

You're idolising Japan. There's plenty of reasons why it sucks. Everywhere is great as a tourist, even Bali. There's a difference between the fat white foreigner banging underaged girls, and the local 18 year old dude with no certs, selling ice cream by the roadside for 20 cents a day.

The number one reason is work culture. You don't work hard, you work long. Its retarded, accomplishes nothing, and is just a waste of time and life. Enjoy going back on Sundays for 7 hours just to send a fax out, as your boss is there, and his boss is there, so all of you have to go in and jerk each other off.

Then there's Honne and Tatemae. If you don't know about this, you deserve to get fukked.

There's also the nail that sticks out gets hammered in culture. You think it'd be good to make SJWs toe the line, but you don't realise that it applies to wearing a navy blue suit when you should be wearing charcoal, and yes, you can lose your job over that. Good luck expressing yourself.

If you have any kids, they'll get bullied to hell. Their bullying is not American style locker shoving, but ostracisation, scrawling on their desk, getting their shoes stolen and thrown out, etc. The teacher will not do anything, because your kid is the nail that sticks out, so its their fault.

Everything else you've said is retarded. Japan has the 2nd highest number of atheists in the world, next to China, and you're saying that they're crazy religious. That's as retarded as saying Afghanistan is a safe and progressive space for women.

If you like it there so much, then fuk off and go live there. Love it or leave it.

Source: Have Japanese relatives that are actually normal, not low-class gaijin hunters. The fact that your wife has never told you any of these tells me she's never been in a proper job, and only has ever worked as a gaijin hunter.

None of this says anything negative about Japan as a country. Just that it's not as good for foreigners as for locals, which is perfectly fine.

I honestly don't know too much about feminism in Japan. I do know that i would absolutely hate to be a salaryman there, it would be awful. I think the courts certainly favour Japanese women over Western guys and custody is normally awarded to the person 'in possession' of the children at the time. Japanese women are wiley though and will make sure that before the divorce, their kids are with their Japanese grandparents out in the countryside and they will have filed domestic abuse charges with the prick Japanese police. I personally know several Japanese women who really hold the children as ransom and demand exorbitant sums from their former Western husbands just to see the kids.

Naive Westerners seem to have this view that Asian women are somehow better than Western women. Western women are awful, no doubt, but Japanese, Thai, Chinese women are even more ruthless when it comes to money. Yet Westerners think of them as traditional, subservient wives that will cook, clean and look after their man. Nothing could be further from the truth. Blows my mind that guys go to Thailand and end up marrying bar girls that they don't even have a language in common with and who always have at least one kid as well as a Thai boyfriend that beats her senseless but that she respects moroe than the poor Western sap that marries her.

It was great to live in Japan at first. Tokyo is amazing, you get to go out and smash Japanese (and foreign) girls in scummy Roppongi, the food is incredible, people are superficially polite, there's so much order, etc. But the sheen always wears off and you begin to see the dark heart of the country. You'll only ever be seen as a Gaijin and you'll never have equal rights there. But yeah, if any of you bros do go over there just don't go over as a poverty English teacher lol.

Bro If I had a japanese wife and extended family over there I would move there ASAP. I would take my parents with me and buy a house for me & them in a nice rural town over there. Why are you still in poverty US?

Homogeneous society is bound to function better. The vast majority believes in a traditional culture and share the same values. Heterogeneous societies don't work well because no one can agree on anything.
