"To All The White Boys I’ve Dated Before" -dating experiences as an East Asian woman.

While I have previously dated Asian men, I slowly found myself becoming more attracted to white men as I gradually got accepted into what people call “elite” institutions – all of which are predominantly white spaces.
As a result, the question, “What’s your type?” is always loaded for me. Dating as a woman of colour is stressful under any circumstances. Add white men into the equation, and I can feel my anxiety going through the roof. My friends are always excited to hear that I’m dating someone new, but as soon as they discover he’s white, that excitement is tinged with sadness.
As someone who is heavily involved in social justice work, particularly through the arts collective Skin Deep, I always joke that the reason I date white men is so that I can practise micro-activism – making them aware of their privilege every day that they’re with me.

Asians are obsessed with being accepted by White people. If you talk with a person whose fresh from Asia, they refer to White people as "Westerners" instead of "White people" but will explicitly refer to Blacks or Latinos as "Black" and "Latino".... the reason is because they're trying to blur the line between European and Asian, they're trying to imply that White people and Asian people are the same race but with only minor phenotypical differences - similar to how the French are from Western Europe and Ukrainians are from Eastern Europe - they're the same race, they just occupy different regions, therefore Asian people can be considered the same race as White people, but they just inhabit the extreme east of the Eurasian continent...

Not only do Blacks and Latinos NOT consider Asians to be POC, most Asians themselves proudly wear the “model minority” badge by actively distancing themselves from all other groups.

If so, that wouldn’t surprise me, but no, where I live the only Hispanics we have are Puerto Ricans and Dominicans (VERY few Mexicans) and they tend to connect more with Blacks culturally.
