Love is a short-term hormonal distraction that interferes with the pure pursuit of personal advancement.

Other than when I was a naive kid in my teens or younger, never really thought of love in a way that a singular soulbound human on the earth could be "the one." That is to say, the one tied forever from meeting till death, stars aligning like magic and stuff. I partially have to thank my own parents who don't really love eachother but are married and still together, almost divorced on several occasions. And dad had some divorces too before.

I think some exes or women will have been "the best" and you can't always realize it when you lose it.

Kinda dumb to think of it in that way when you have to realize there's nearly 8 billion people on this earth and it's not your fault you're stuck in the specific geographic location that you're in growing up. Proximity is happenstance.

Is love perpetual and everlasting? Typically, no.

Oh, you mean love. You mean the big lightning bolt to the heart where you can't eat and you can't work and you just run off and get married and make babies. The reason you haven't felt it is because it doesn't exist. What you call love was invented by guys like me to sell nylons. You're born alone and you die alone and this world just drops a bunch of rules on top of you to make you forget those facts. But I never forget. I'm living like there's no tomorrow, because there isn't one

Yes, your brain forms a chemically dependent link to a female after you bust enough nuts in her vagene.

It's been scientifically proven and all other females will elicit aversion to you once the link is firmly established.

Women's brains aren't wired that way though. They only care about what you can provide for them. Once they milk you dry it's on to the next sucker.

I don't really understand this thought process; all this does is explains the causality of the feeling you know as 'love'.

It has to have some causation, why does it being a chemical reaction mean it's not 'real'? We are creatures who's brains are mediated by chemicals, oxytocin and it's neural pathway is objectively real, so again why does the fact it's a chemical reaction lead you to claim its not 'real'?

Every feeling is mediated by chemicals, so under this logic no feelings are 'real', but all the chemical reactions objectively exist, so I'd argue they are all 'real'.

i have a feeling they mean something like an unbroken bond; essentially hoping that it's not just a temporary amalgamation of conditional feelings

or like the famous "if i were in a wheelchair would you still love me"

"back then hoes didn't want me, now im hot they all on me"

butttttttttttt im not sure there's a real answer.

i dont have it with a sloot but id take my dog back in a second.

is it possible when i think of him i'm only thinking of the good times and i'm fabricating a feel good scenario and that's what i want? i dont think so

i would take even the bad times back

we are in a fairly ethereal, emotional based realm im not sure can be quantified... yet

Yeah it’s the same realness as sadness or happiness. All are fleeting emotions.

We’re very comfortable but it was not always like that and she was fine back then.

I was actually more of an ass back then and she was more attached also. It’s either age or times or both that brough me to this point of even wondering if love is something real

Parent’s love is one unconditional love (and even that can be otherwise sometimes). Everything else is a matter of convenience.

Most people love and follow religion and other chit as a matter of convenience. the moment it’s inconvenient, they bail the fuk out.

I used to “do the right thing” 99% of the time. Now I have to pause and wait and think If the other party would do the same for me. If the answer is maybe or no, I have to TRY HARD to make my answer no too. Makes me a beta, don’t it? Haha

Love is just a real as any other emotion. Is anger, happiness, jealousy, or excitement real?

How can mirrors be real if our eyes aren't?

Imo the concept of 'love' in western culture is very bad. I think what westerners refer to as 'love' is actually 'lust'. 'Love' is when two people grow together and develop a bond. Let's say two people meet, have marriage interviews with each other and with family, they are compatible and get married. Over the years they develop experiences and a bond between them which I think is much more accurate to describe as 'love'. However this can only occur in a society, or between two people, who do not embrace slooty behavior.

Love is something that ideally develops after marriage, not before. Before marriage you should be looking for compatibility in the most important areas of life such as religion, money, politics, lifestyle, living location, number of children, how to raise kids, importance of education, who will or will not work, allowances for non-working partner (preferably wife), etc.

All love is your hormones and neurotransmitters creating a chemical reaction. There's no "perfect" woman or love at first sight. It's all just chemicals in your brain. That's why if you really want to reproduce with a partner, you should do it based on their genetics and not just on "love". That way your offspring are strong, smart and have good genetics. The way I see it, there’s two type of “love” under the context we are discussing.

1) Burning love: when two people desire each other to the core of their beings. They claim every particle of the other persons body. It’s romance, lust, friendship, admiration, etc. As amazing as it sounds, it’s also ephemeral. As that initial burst of positive feelings start fading away, you are left with tangible reality of what the other person is. A person can’t very rarely compete with their “burning love” version of themselves, naturally. As thing go slowly downhill, other Windows open up.

You see this in young people all the time. They are deeply in love and always together 24/7. 2 years later you find out they are doing the same with a diff person, they look equally in love.

2) True love: This is reserved for a very small % of people. When two intelligent, attractive, self aware, noble, people of integrity meet each other who also have their expectations and understanding of the universe aligned.

After these two go trough the burning love phase, thing don’t go downhill, but actually uphill. Things continue to improve and evolve. Their loyalty to each other gets stronger with every day that passes and every struggle they find, contrary to what others experience.

These are the type of couples you see that they have loved each other for decades and still look like they would take a bullet for the other one. They brought kids to the world but for some reason, they still love the other person similarly or just as much as their own kids, the partner doesn’t take a second priority position. Would never even dare thinking about betraying the other persons trust because they see the other person as an extension of themselves. Meant to be together.

2 is really hard to see, let alone to get. For starters, most of us aren’t as the people described on that type of love, so achieving it becomes nearly impossible without even considering the fact that we’d still have to find another person like that.

If you felt any of the two tho, consider yourself lucky.
"The flowers bloom, then wither... The stars shine and one day become extinct. This earth, the sun, the galaxies and even the big universe, someday will be destroyed. Compared with that, the human life is only a blink, just a little time. In that short time - people are born, laugh, cry, fight, are injured, feel joy, sadness, hate someone, love someone. All in just a moment. And then, are embraced by the eternal sleep called death."
