I don't.

The dataset was created by a University of Chicago economist for a study that was designed to specifically investigate the claim that violent crime is correlated to poverty:http://pricetheory.uchicago.edu/levi...onship1999.pdf

One could probably create a similar dataset using more updated data, but to be honest, I don't think you'd be surprised to see those trends have not changed.

whats the context of the chart? is that 90% plus percintile income of ALL families, or by race? if its all families,, to be in the wealthiest 10% and be black will be a very small subset statistically, and if its by race that same 10% will still be pretty damn poor.

I accepted some of the rest of what you said hours ago, but everyone needs to look a lot deeper at the stats than just parroting 13/52 like an imbecile

I was responding to the statement that people commit crimes because they are dumb

Violent crime isnt just murder, just like tax evasion isn’t all white collar

Wealth quantile by race. The 90th and above percentile of black families are the top 10% wealthiest blacks in the nation.

I don't know how you can possibly believe that the top 10% of black family income is anywhere close to 20x less than the bottom 10% of white family income, which is what would be required for those stats to be incomparable.

A now-mainstream subculture that glorifies criminality, violence, and zero accountability to or empathy for the world around you makes much more sense when you look at the data.

Most people in poverty in general don't commit crimes and what causes crime is a lot more complex than simply poverty and is contextual. If this was the case, then poor black people would commit crimes at the same rate as poor white people and hispanic people. but this isn't the case at all therefore there as to be another explanation for it that is driving it. I think poor white people are probably too busy getting high off meth to be doing violent crime (i.e: West Virginia) semi-srs.

Single parent households are a much better predictor of criminality, but yes single parent households tend to have a higher likelihood of being in poverty, this is regardless of race. Black people just have a higher proportion of single-parent households than other races. if you actually control for dual parent households, the poverty rates for them are actually much lower. but regardless of how you slice it and how you want to control for it black people tend to have higher violent crime rates. imo a big part of it is the "ghetto/gang sub-culture" aspect of it.

Id be interested to see how that varies when controlled for socio economic class.

I have a suspicion that blacks living in the suburbs commit violent crimes in line with other groups of the area.


Stats like these, imo, dont tell me a whole lot other than poverty places like st louis are predominately black.
