You're describing narcissists. Had a friend who was like that - always criticizing everyone, but anyone even says the slightest thing against him he'd flip out and fly off the handle. I remember he claimed he only played instruments when he was home alone because "He doesn't play to show off." More like he doesn't play at all and sucks at it so bad he's too embarrassed to pick up his bass in public. Of course the local band we all listened to, THEIR bassist fukked his girlfriend, so that's probably why he was saying that sh!t. He even stayed with her for 7 years after she fukked someone else. That sh!t ended poorly.

It's always interesting you always hear people in the black community about not letting the actions of a small subsection define the rest of the group.

Yet anytime something good happens, they can't just be like "hey yeah that guy did great!". It's always great like he did it because of his race or somehow his race helped him do it or it was because he was black that he succeeded. Not his hard work, dedication to the craft and talent. Yet in this situation he loses and somehow that affects everybody in the black community. It's a very very interesting phenomenon.

I don't know him but it might just be his coping with his insecurity. Look at the overall picture. Would you want to trade lives with him? Guy at my work was like that too. What really gets me is the kind of people who believe in them and buy it. The actual narccisit I will just write off, but those who fell for it I just can't respect anymore. They might not be bad people, but they are almost worse in they will bring and feed bad people. Enablers.
