I see why you’re doing what you’re doing etc but unless you’re prepared for several years of disablement I’d highly advise against it. 5’6 isn’t even that bad. I’d recommend doing a grown hormone cycle for a year and doing extreme stretching exercises every day instead srs. My brother gained 3 inches on his height by doing this, plus always sleeping flat on stomach stretched out (not with knees tucked in) he also wears boots that have 2 inches on them to make him taller.
Remember the guy that gave up? Neither does anybody else.

I can't imagine the level of stress this puts on your ligaments and tendons, forget about the muscles. Ligaments and tendons do not grow at the same rate as muscle, which is why you often see injuries purely from a loading perspective. I can't imagine the added stress now from essentially stretching them.

On a list of terrible ideas, this is definitely up there, but good luck. I couldn't imagine not being able to walk in my latter years in life due to this surgery.

One of my close buddies did two hair transplant surgeries in turkey.

it will work and look great he was told. Doctor has a great reputation he was told.

Both surgeries failed.

Don’t do it OP. You’re young and think you invincible but it’s a mistake IMO

This thread is so sad...

I don't buy the "you're only doing it for yourself and not how you think you will be treated by others" reasoning.

We're social beings, and we don't live in a vacuum. You're insecurities are coupled with your social environment. If you were living on an island alone since age 10, you think you would have those insecurities and would want to have this surgery?

I feel really sad for you OP SRS, I hope you tackle the root cause of your issue which is your mind.

-------------------------FIRST UPDATE----------------------------------

Hey brahs. This is going to be my first update after my original post paving the way towards surgery date. Today I had another consultation with an Orthopedic regarding my surgery (my first time seeing her). We evaluated the health of my femurs/tibulas followed by x-rays and then a face to face discussion about this decision. From a standpoint of cosmetic surgery she could understand why I'm doing it but from the standpoint of her own medical expertise, she probably thought I was out of my mind in the most nonchalant way. She was 50/50 considering the risk vs reward. In the 10 years she's been practicing she never had a patient who underwent through LL but theoretically it's a surgery that has been proven to be a success in many patients but since it's a niche procedure she went to go consult with her director who advised me to go to one of the more prestigious special surgery hospitals in state for orthopedic operations that perform LL. Due to the cost (Over 100,000 USD) I explained the decision on why I'm opposed to it understandably.

Out of the all the Dr's who I've spoken to excluding the one's who perform LL I got mixed reactions but the one commonality that they've all had was that they gave me the greenlight. The most interesting thing I've learned during this whole process is that in Vietnam after speaking to a couple Doctor's there over messages and patients, there's many top Doctor's performing LL at a fraction of the cost on the Tibula but not on the Femurs. Supposedly, if you want to gain the extra inches on the Femur you have to search a lot deeper on who lengthens in it due to some regulations but overall as stated by some patients who I spoke to, Vietnam has a high success rate from a very niche group of Doctors for a fraction of the cost which was very surprising. Spoke to one guy who's already squatting and deadlifting heavy 6 months later from LL. "Supposedly" they don't consider it a cosmetic surgery there (source: forums) Either way, I'd consider Vietnam but that's only if things go sideways and a last resort because then it'd make me consider a lot more factors like getting a translator and housing.

Judging from the accounts of many patients around the world who are undergoing LL as well as the increased popularity/advancement of methods my educated guess is that similar to Lasik and it's inception, we will have centers strictly dedicated to LL within the next decade.

Moving forward, my next step is sending these x-rays to my Doctor who I've already decided will be the one who will be operating on me and we'll go from there after he examines them. I'll keep you guys updated - Cheers

Like seriously, Vietnam? It's a 3rd world country. You're seriously going to risk getting some sort of infection or complication.

OP please think long and hard on this.

While it's an attractive option based on my research and first hand testimonials, I'm still fixated and solidified on my original doctor from Turkey who's done hundreds of LL operations. Going to Vietnam will have to include a bunch of other factors I have to consider.

So you want to do the cheap option too? Dude are you srs?

Pay the gotdamn 100k if you want it that bad, don’t be cheap on something that could potentially alter your life for the worse.

Edit: if you can’t afford to save 50k more and just wait a year or two, then maybe you should focus on other things before that bro. How about start making proper money?

No hate but I feel like your mind is totally scrambled at this point.
"The flowers bloom, then wither... The stars shine and one day become extinct. This earth, the sun, the galaxies and even the big universe, someday will be destroyed. Compared with that, the human life is only a blink, just a little time. In that short time - people are born, laugh, cry, fight, are injured, feel joy, sadness, hate someone, love someone. All in just a moment. And then, are embraced by the eternal sleep called death."

There are successful third world doctors as much as there in the" first world" and vice versa with unsuccessful ones. Geographic location has no correlation with one's ability to be successful in medicine.

Name ten reasons/ways how your life will improve drastically by risking your life for 3 inches and spending $80,000.

Why not try the growth injections that doctors give to people in order to gain height it would be cheaper and safer. In the end if it doesn't work go get cut up like the guy in the board game "operation".

I think a lot about how much better my life would be to go from 5’7” to 6’2” but never in a million years would I do this. Think you gotta be mental to go through with a procedure like this.

I put on 4 inches by hanging from the chin up bar 5x a week for 30min, but I think most of it came from taking height gainer.

Everyone in this thread who is telling the OP its a d*mb and r*tarded idea is right, because its logical... but OP seems very ignorant and quite d*mb to be frank, with very low intelligence.
Its his choice of course, he can do whatever he wants with his body, but its still extremely d*mb and st*pid, however he made up his mind and will go through with this absolute st*pidity of paying an insane amount of money for something so irelevant with so many risks like being in a wheelchair, having excruciating pain for the rest of his life etc...
All he can do is hope that life won't make him pay for his st*pidity... I wish you luck OP

I can't imagine what life is like at 5'6 but apparently enough to drive a man to these extremes. Not judging, people get surgeries, both complex & simple, all the time. Things like bish tits, teeth, hair are common for men (some of which are done under general anaesthesia as well so risky). I think OPie just sees this as the only way out of his mindset and it's hard to convince someone that there are alternative options like psychologists who can help.

But a boobjob or teeth are different than something that can put you in a wheelchair or put you through excruciating pain for the rest of the life.
Getting those things done to make you feel better I get, doing this with the risks, thats just plain d*mb and st*pid.
