Possibly the most disappointing game at launch ever. Have literally not heard or read a single positive thing about it except by DragonCuck

Bugs and issues aside, I've had a lot of fun. Hated it the first few times until I adjusted, but it's legit good fun with great potential.

Portal is ****ing awesome and the potential there is massive. If they can sort the bugs and PC performance issues, as well as tweak some gameplay elements, it'll be a damn good game for a damn long time.

Portal is next level IMO.

Oddly enough, glad I purchased for PS5 first as performance has been basically rock solid while it sounds like the PC experience has been trash.

Not sure how they ****ed up the sound design so badly though. BF games always had GOAT sound, this is just entirely wrong.

I am fairly certain that almost all of the BF games have had sound issues. They would eventually fix sound issues along with other bugs. This is standard operating procedure for DICE. Release game and take the next year or so fixing it.

Are you guys enjoying the game because it's good, or because youre playing with friends/squads?

I cant see this game being genuinely 'good' to play alone.

I will admit, even with the no progress on solo, I am having fun, I can sit back and relax, no stress from other people and enjoy just running and gunning.

Issues that anger me: No progress in solo, minimal destruction physics. The movement is meh, but not bothering me too much, and I would like more weapon choices; for me it's a 5/10, worth the price but not GOTY.

Yeah bought the gold edition to get the early launch, Installed and kept crashing for me on PC... Reinstalled twice, did a fresh install of windows, and still crashed. Luckily steam is super nice about refunds so I got my money back I will buy once the bugs are fixed I love battlefield and the 10 mins I did get to play I was having fun with it

Game comes out tomorrow. I haven't even played early access. Undecided if I should cancel pre-order or not.


This game needs more close quarters combat, like a city with buildings or something

I swear if you pull out an RPG & fire pointblank at a guy in front of you with a tactical shield he won't even take damage LOL

Boring is one thing but the optimization is completely broken; I can't believe how many AAA games launched this year like that

I'm never buying a new game again srs(backlog is 200 deep anyway)

Bros here's the thing. I haven't played an online shooter in years and I was excited as hell for this game. Bad Company 2 was one of the last shooters I played and it was certainly the most memorable for me since then.

One thing I REALLY remember from that game was the sound effects. I was in awe of them. I only play Recon and I still remember the sound of my gun to this day. The sound effects in that game were absolute bonkers.

I saw that 2042 gameplay recently and bugs aside, the thing I really noticed were the weak, almost muffled sounds effects. It was just over youtube, I kept that in mind but what in the actual fuk happened to the sound in this game?

My god the difference in sound design in insane

BF2042 sounds horrific compared to the intensity and realism BF4 has in sounds

Okay, so I'm not fuking crazy. Thank you. I didn't look up old BC2 vids or anything, I was just going off my memory from a decade ago. Imagine a 10 year jump in technology to get this rushed chite. Amazing.

2042 is downloaded. I'm LDAR'ing hard after work today.

ETA: fawwwwk, maybe I'm not. Booted up one match today before work and the game felt HORRIBLE. Maybe it's because I'm coming from Apex, but the movement feels like dog chit. Guns feel floaty. Maps are too big. It's just not satisfying at all.

Is Portal mode any good? Fawwwk, I have like 1hr to find out before my Steam refund expires.

ETA ETA: Fawwwk it, played another match and uninstalled. Game is just chit.

played 2 portal matches and quit. guns are literally RNG-fiesta. out of 30 hits on someone's chest, you'd be lucky hitting 2 if you keep holding the fire button.

Game doesn't work for me anymore. Played 5-6 rounds, then the past 6 times i've tried loading into a map i get a DX12 error and game crashes. I can't find a fix online.

I'll wait to see how it improves in 3-5 months, too bad there's no fixing for the direction they're going...

Tempted to get Ea play just to download BF4 again on PS5 and see if it still active.

I still play BF4 off and on and it's quite active on PC, there are still a ton of 64 person servers running 24/7.

That's what I heard but PC userbase are usually more active for older games compared to plebsoles, who knows hows on PS, guess ill have to jump in to check it out.
