Chad goes to ex-wife's house to pick up his son for his turn of custody and is killed by the ex-wife's new boyfriend, Kyle. Feel really bad for the kid.

Edit: Kyle Carruth (the shooter) is actually an attorney, not a tradie.

This will be an interesting case to follow.

Man is on his property. He tried to wrestle the gun away from him. Gun comes out, if someone tries to take it, you gotta shoot.

Bad situation. Poor kids... man people are so selfish.

Another shooting influenced by the verdict of Kyle Rittenhouse. But but but hurr durr self defense lol.

100% this.

What the **** do you think to do?

you don't approach someone with a gun, tell them to use it, and then say you're going to take it and use it against them... and then ATTEMPT to take it from them... And not expect to get shot.

like think this through. The guy should have got the **** off his property or at least not attempted to take the gun.

****ty though, seems like the mom is kind of a ****. Sounds like the dad was supposed to get the kid at 3:15 and the mom thinks she is just going to keep him as long as she wants so that she can spend more time w/ him... wtf.

Youre dumb as hell. If he wanted him off the property, call the police.

Its 100% he's getting 10 years the very least.

I'll even wager $50 that he will.

Also, take note that I mentioned in another thread, the gun can and is often used as an intimidation factor first.

The guy did not have to shoot him btw.

Man A suppose to pick up his kid at 315, kid is not there. Man A is demanding to see his kid and says he is suppose to get him at 315...the guy who is living at the house? Man B tells him to leave..Man A says something (cant hear) and Man B goes inside. Man A is arguing with sloot about seeing his kid and apparently sloot wanted to see the kid and had told Dude A to pick him up later. Man B comes out with gun and says to leave, Man A gets rustled and walks up to man with gun. Man with gun shoots a warning shot? Its pointed at Man As feet, Man A reaches for Gun, Man with gun ends up shooting Man A.

This. Not self defense at all. There was no imminent danger of life. Bio dad was standing there asking for his son and legit has the right to pick up his son. They're playing games not saying where he is. I think the bio dad interpreted the step dad's rifle as a bluff stance and did not believe he would actually shoot it since he wasn't there to threaten anyone but just get his kid (threatening to take to court is not the same as threatening their life). Also, unarmed is no match for a rifle, also he pushed him out of the way so he could go look inside his home to get his kid, the push was no way life threatening. Step dad was in zero danger for his life. He'll get prison.

It appears ex-wife had been playing games with custody of the son. This particular instance he was supposed to have custody at 3:15 and she had the kid somewhere else and was telling him tough luck. New BF wants him gone and tells him to leave. He doesn't leave so new BF gets gun. Ex goes apechit and tells him to use it or he is going to take it and use it on him. Fires warning shot and the dude grabs the gun, he breaks free and drops him.

It sounds like the new wife of the dude that got shot didn't comprehend the dude was dead and kept arguing.

Alright I'll bet you $50 no problem.

There is no chance he gets 10 years lmao.

Doesn't work liek that, especially in Texas. If someone tries to take a firearm from you, on your property after saying they'll use it on you, you can shoot them.

Too many factors at play...if he is there to pick up his kid, is it a designated agreed upon spot for pick up?
Is it even the guys house or the sloots?

Warning shot was fired? Some blak lady ended up in jail for shooting a warning shot at an abusive ex...varies by state.

So if he was there at an agreed upon spot for legal purposes, then was the sloot committing a crime by not letting the dad see his kid?

Imagine if couples just could have custody arrangements and then when its time to pick up the kid, not hand the kid over and pull out guns.

Confusion/early shock. OODA loop got stuck, happens when people aren’t used to experiencing extreme violence up close and personal. It didn’t hit them immediately about what actually went down right in front of them. Saw it but couldn’t process it.

Doesn't matter if he is there to pick up the kid, if its the designated spot or not. That means nothing. He was asked, then told to leave by the owner of the property (after stating, "none of you are supposed to be here" which leads me to believe it's not the pick up spot). He then attempted to take the firearm from the man on his own property. 10/10 times that will get you shot, and will be deemed legal. ESPECIALLY after you tell the person you're going to take their gun and shoot them with it.

The "warning shot" I wouldn't think much of in Texas. Especially on his own property (which from youtube comments insinuates his house was on some property), definitely not in a city. Yes the woman who shot the 'warning shot' was a different situation.
She retrieved a gun from a car, went back inside and says she fired a “warning shot” after Gray said he would kill her - an account backed by one of his sons. No one was injured.
Her problem was she LEFT the house to go get the firearm from her car, then went back. IF she would have left and he would have chased her or if she already had it in the house and grabbed it to defend herself? She'd have been fine. The issue in the case was the fact she left what she claimed she was "in fear of her life of" and then proceeded back into the situation now that she had firearm courage.

If its her house, and she lives there and not him? Still probably won't be an issue because of the fact he probably resides there on a frequent basis if he has a firearm he keeps 'in the house' there and its his.

Yea people don’t realize that there’s the US and then there’s Texas. There’s a lot of ways to legally shoot someone there that aren’t legal anywhere else.

Pretty sure they still have the “night prowler” law where you can shoot anyone after dark that is on your property attempting to enter any structure/vehicle or steal anything, even if it’s a leaf rake.
