If Russia does invade the Ukraine not even Dominion and a thousand water pipes bursting at 3am can save Biden in 2024, and the Dems will 120% lose majority in both houses this year.

There will be no war unless we elect strong leaders. Until then Russia and china are free to take what they want with no threat of consequences (cant sanction them as they collectively need nothing from the west).

Im sure they're not interested in trying to conquer the west as they likely learned from the failures in the middle east, plus why even try if your don't have to? You think Biden scares Putin?

Edit - remember what Russia did last time the west had a weak leader, 'annexed' crimea. What did we do?

irrelevant. Ukraine has a right to be it’s own independent country and that’s not up for debate.

I don't know enough about geopolitics to know what the long term effects of this are going to be.

10 years ago i would have been under the delusion that there are highly intelligent foreign policy experts in the white House that would know exactly what to do and are scholars on geopolitics.

Now I legit believe our so called experts don't know chit about anything and whatever decision they will make will like fukk everything up more just the way they did with covid.

Fukking clown world can't handle a war right now. America is a failing empire and this will be the straw that breaks the camel's back

Our leaders can't handle managing a new endemic minor cold, what makes you think they can handle negotiating with the world's other two superpowers who are near peers and likely more powerful if allied?

China controls our supply chain. Whats like the first rule of modern war - break their supply chain. China also likely controls space. Biden controls nothing, US consumers will continue to buy china's cheap garbage even if we were at war.

Cuban Missile Crisis Pt. 2?

https://www.wsj.com/articles/in-u-s-...bshare_twitter

Russia Suggests Military Deployment to Venezuela, Cuba if Tensions With U.S. Remain High

Russia’s deputy foreign minister said talks with the U.S. over the security situation in Ukraine had stalled and suggested that Moscow could dispatch a military deployment to Venezuela and Cuba, as the Kremlin seeks to pressure Washington to meet its demands to halt Western military activity that Russia claims poses a threat.

Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said Thursday that Moscow couldn’t exclude dispatching “military infrastructure” to Venezuela or Cuba if tensions with Washington—which have soared in recent weeks over a huge buildup of Russian troops on Ukraine’s border—continue to rise.

“I don’t want to confirm anything, I will not rule out anything…. Depends on the actions of our American colleagues,” Mr. Ryabkov told privately owned Russian-language television network RTVi in an interview Thursday in Moscow. Mr. Ryabkov said he saw no immediate grounds for fresh talks with the U.S., after several rounds of negotiations this week yielded little progress in defusing the crisis in Ukraine.

In Washington later, White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan said U.S. and European officials would confer in the coming days, but that no dates have been set for further discussions with Russia.

“I’m not going to respond to bluster in the public commentary that wasn’t raised in the discussions at the Strategic Stability Dialogue,” Mr. Sullivan said of Mr. Ryabkov’s remarks about a potential deployment in Latin America, referring to talks Monday between U.S. and Russian officials in Geneva.

“If Russia were to move in that direction, we would deal with it decisively,” he said.

We can talk semantics all day long, but when it actually comes down to action Russian nor china cannot touch the us on military might it’s just not possible. Yes.But they'll still take Taiwan.Infact i assure you China takes Taiwan before Russia ever takes Ukraine.Military exercises on the border by Russia is just posturing and at most they may send a few troops into Luhansk and Donetz. But make no mistake China will take Taiwan. That's like the sole raison d etre of the CCP existing. No chance the CCP won't invade Taiwan. That is way too emotional an issue for them and lets be honest Murica won't care too much barring sanctions if that does happen. Not worth going to war over really.

I disagree. Between South Korea / Japan and Australia they will not mess with Taiwan. Just do a google search chinas navy vs the us. It’s laughable.

Didnt the US Navy lose a multi billion dollar war ship in 2020 due to a LGBT love circle gone wrong? That ship was on fire for days and days and latter decommissioned.

I agree neither on its own could, but the US public doesn't have the stomach for war. Not to mention a war of the future between super powers won't be some boots on the ground thing, it will be technological superiority. Considering China makes all our technology and has assets in all tech companies and our government I think we know how that will go. They've been planning this for decades.

I know we're talking about Russia, but as it goes the enemy of my enemy is my friend. We need to wake up as a country and as an alliance or we will lose ww3 before a shot is fired. Step 1 is taking a hard line on ukraine and putting our military where our mouth is. If we don't they should invade, I would, then begins the long sunset of the US and NATO.

Probably lol. The wokeness is getting terrible in the military as a whole. Of course it’s good things are becoming more modern and everyone is being treated as more equals but it’s going too far.

Lots of neoliberal/neocon propaganda in this thread. Fascinating that in 2022 there are Americans and miscers that still believe Western media.

Oh for sure infantry and ground forces are playing less and less parts of the equation. But as far as technology, all china can do is copy. The f22 is 30 years old and no country has been able to top it. I agree though Russia has no business in Ukraine and they need to look at what they’re doing. But I also agree we have been too lax with what china is allowed to do. Off topic but while walking around Seattle there was china daily news papers on every street corner…. Strange
