Itโ€™s very serious to allow the government to take away someoneโ€™s freedom by tribunal. Itโ€™s difficult to find the balance where someone is a danger to himself or others versus taking away their freedom when they havenโ€™t done anything wrong yet (or have served their time on priors).

I've been saying this for years. Blame Ronald Reagan administration for closing down the majority of all asylums without providing alternatives. Yes, some asylums didn't follow proper procedures ect.. but it was a place where they kept people with serious mental illness and the majority of homeless folks have some sort of mental issues.

Driving in DFW is way worse than taking public transit in NYC IME. Seriously NYC is a great place to be if you are wealthy.
