How is it like? Are you retired? How long do you plan on working? What do you do for fun? Does your back hurt? Did you expect to be where you at now? Are your pubes grey?

Late 80’s baby here but I have so many questions…
We’re all gonna make it.

I'm 49. Osteoarthritis setting in my lower back and neck. Bone spurs on spine. Male pattern baldness. Diverticulitis. Have to take TRT to feel half way normal. Need to get a few broken teeth fixed. Need either bi-focals or lasik.

It all creeps in so slowly you don't really notice. I still try to keep a positive attitude, but am also keeping records in case I need to go on disability in the future.

It is great, will be 52 in October and retire in 10 years with full pension, fat 457b and a lady 10 years younger. I will be on that fishing boat time, boyos.

Back hurts sometimes, might have a little carpal tunnel going on but can do anything I want. Ride motorcycle and other outdoorsy stuff.

I just turned 50 last month! I can probably say I still have an elite physique. House and cars are paid for w/a nice chunk of savings, but I doubt we will ever stop working as our jobs are just hobbies at this point.

Suppose if it would take 10 years for a man to master a single skill

then imagine how many skills you could master in your whole life?

I will be 62 next month. I think I have mastered more than a few skills and am still trying very hard to master more.

Getting old is a gift.

Be 65 soon. Worst thing aside from losing family, is knowing what this country used to be.

I just turned 50.

I’ve been struggling with back and neck injuries these past few years. I keep trying to get back into tennis league but I’ve only done one season since 2014. I took a few years off tennis for work.

I’ve been lifting while I can and with this latest back injury I’ve been able to do a lot of upper body weights.

It hasn’t been easy. I keep falling and getting up and try to get back to where I was at 30 and forget I have age and extra weight on me.

I hope to retire or work part-time in 5-10 years. I have one wonderful teen girl.

I'm 51. Retired at 30 but not by choice. I came down with an autoimmune disease and became to sick to work so I'm not a good person to answer questions. Will mention though that here of late I rarely have unusual pains. Kind of nice. In the past it could be annoying to find some body part aching for no know reason at all. Something I have noticed is that for some reason a good number of people my age have suddenly grown very old looking. Not all are like this but there is something about the age of 50 that ages many guys badly.

Heck if I know. I was a SAHM, then divorced, taking care of my mom, covid, low paying job, ex died...

Web surfing, listen to music, sketch floorplans, some tv/movies/books. Under different circumstances I would get out and do more- gardening, house stuff, museums, live music, maybe a dance or exercise class.

Plenty of wear and tear. My neck and jaw have been bothering me the most since an injury earlier this year. I feel like a lot could be improved or fixed given the time and money; don't know if it will happen.

OTOH on a good day when the sun is shining I can put on music and dance around still feeling like a kid. It's just that I know if I'm not careful I might hurt later for it- better not jump too long or too hard if I don't want sore feet/calves, run a block or two- arthritis flare up in my knee and hip for a couple of months.

No, not at all. The last time I thought I knew what my life was going to look like I was still living in MI in a condo and sharing parenting time with my ex [2018/few months of 2019]. Life was uncertain then too, but I thought that I would live in the same place at least- keep going to my gym, see my daughter regularly, have a chance to go to school or get some kind of training or start a business. I expected to stay there until my daughter graduated high school which would have been spring 2024.
