Let's exclude major, expensive cost of living places.

I make that much without working full-time with a PhD stipend and adjunct lecturing work.

I drive a nice car, rent a decent apartment, wear nice clothes, gym membership, fine dining a few times a week, and still save up money. It's the bare minimum for a decent lifestyle, but I want more.

On the flipside, to make this much without even working full time and having the majority of the day to myself, is beast mode. Plenty of people would kill to be in my situation.
Back off, Warchild.

Seriously.

It’s good enough

Past $75k happiness doesn’t get much better. They did studies on this

You're doing fine as long as you're happy, enjoying your work and enjoying what you do in your free time.

I'd avoid listening to most of these miscers that berate you for your earnings because they "say" they make 100k+ w/o many of them actually proving it - after all, its the internet, why not lie.

I'd say you're doing fine if you're feeling fine.

Well it's lower than average. The median salary here is 100K.

Sounds about right. The median salary is Melbourne is about $90k so Sydney with its higher COL being $100k isn't surprising.

As for OP: Unless you're in a high paying cruisy role, you should be trying to increase your salary (by changing jobs and companies, and learning new skills as needed).

With that said, you need to consider the trade offs. No point in taking a $25k pre-tax increase if you have go from working 40 hours to 60 hours per week. Also, like some people have said, don't think too much about what other people are making because it's a waste of time and energy. Focus you energy on your own self improvement and you'll be more effective and efficient. Key point because time will pass by very quickly if you're LDARing.

This. Although it does depend on your COL a lot though (which I know OP said to disregard). Places like SoCal, NYC, etc. it's suddenly not such a good income.
