It hasn’t taken long for ordinary Russians to feel the impact of sanctions that have followed Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. The ruble has again plummeted against the dollar, prompting Russia’s central bank to raise interest rates to 20% on Monday, from 9.5%.
The ruble reached a historic low of ninety to a dollar, and Sberbank announced that it would charge some forty per cent more for actual dollars than it did before the war.
Russian authorities have banned words like “war” or “invasion” to describe what they want to call a “special operation” in Ukraine.
fukking LOL

I knew there would be total economic failure of Russia's economy due to Putin's invasion of Ukraine and posted here as such over a month ago, but even I thought it would take at least several weeks and not happen in just one week
hell when I looked at and posted Sberbank this am it was down to 1.00 and now it's 0.90 (so add another -10.0% today to it's already worthless stock)

No it won't. Russia is absolutely fked until the current demons running the show are removed from existence, and won't recover for a while after because not only is that gonna happen first; the immense damage to Ukraine is gonna be repaid by Russia including the damage caused by 8 years of loss of Crimea and Donbas. and Russia will be occupied for a long time while all of this happens/
and that's the best case scenario for Russia - the worser case is that Moscow, Saint Peter and dozens of other Russian cities get turned into nuclear firestorms

This has nothing to do with hiding from a bombardment, this has to do with hiding inside places like schools kindergarten and hospitals, basically using civilians as human shields, you know exactly what this is about but you’re changing the subject and playing dumb which does not at all make your case any stronger, it just makes you look like a sneaky bitch lol.

EU sanctions 22 Belarusian officials and military for involvement in Russian invasion of Ukraine
From CNN’s Niamh Kennedy in London
The European Union has sanctioned 22 Belarusian officials and military personnel for their involvement in supporting Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
In a document published Wednesday, the EU said the 22 Belarusian high-ranking individuals were being targeted "in view of the gravity of the situation and of the fact that Belarus is participating in a Russian unprovoked invasion against Ukraine by allowing military aggression from its territory."
The bloc also announced further restrictions on Minsk, banning certain imports from Belarus into the EU, and EU’s exports of machinery to Belarus.
"Certain sectors of the Belarusian economy in particular the wood, steel and potash sectors" are also set to be impacted by the measures, the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union announced in a tweet on Wednesday.

He would have done this MUCH easier since they have already been at war. He would have had his buffer between Russia and NATO. Ukraine was NEVER close to joining NATO, way too corrupt. 10-20 years away or more. All this has done has pushed Ukraine close to joining EU and NATO.
Putin thought Ukranians would welcome them and just surrender and hand it over, he was sadly mistaken. This shows his mind is obviously deteriorating.
So if this was about all about NATO, do tell why he didn't stick to HIS OWN script with the "special operation" and just take Eastern Ukraine eh? He obviously wants to bring back the USSR and most likely isn't just stopping at Ukraine. Poland is right there as well and already has the defense systems he was so scared about.

As that other guy is mentioning it, I also showed you direct quotes from the meeting of Baker making promises that NATO would not expand east (which you said didn't exist and told me to stop lying before). Then you ignored it and didn't reply.
The US have been the aggressors in lead-up to this war. It's not even debatable really.
It's literally a possibility that the US have used Ukraine as a sacrificial lamb lol, we don't know. All you guys know is Putin is a very bad man.

According to a report in the United States Congress sanctions only are affective a little bit and in the short term, long term they just backfire because again, the sanctioned country simply looks for an alternative to the dollar and the banking system, as well as trade more with your enemies.
Also, sanctions do nothing to Putin, sanctions hurt poor civilians, poor kids in the hospital hooked up to American machines that support their life, those are the people sanctions hurt when that machine or life saving drug is no longer allowed to be sold into Russia.

Russia mobilised its troops in February and March 2014 to seize control of Crimea.
Ukrainians had recently deposed their pro-Russian president, Viktor Yanukovych, who was ousted in the Maidan uprising by protesters seeking warmer relations with the EU and Nato.
“I told all my colleagues, ‘We are forced to begin the work to bring Crimea back into Russia’,” he said.
Last year, Mr Putin called Russians and Ukrainians “one nation” and said Ukraine’s current leaders were running an “anti-Russian project”.
So do tell me why Putin started this back in 2014 with the same exact reasons he is doing what he is now. Why does he focus on liberating people and cleansing the nazi's instead of saying he has to protect his own people because of NATO? Is he lying and you know the truth?
President Vladimir Putin had insisted Russia annexed Crimea to protect ethnic Russians from “far-right extremists” whom Russia claimed overthrown President Yanukovych.
