Man idk if it's just because i'm getting older (33 now) but i swear there is just nothing to do anymore and nothing is really fun. I don't get how i'm supposed to improve my social life if i can't get any convos outside of the same small talk conversations and nobody wants to do anything. No joke everyone i know just talks about restaurants and netflix. I still lift and do other chit but i don't have anyone to do anything with.

Join an adventure club like I did. It's one of the best things I did for my depression. Today we are going on a hike to see seals. I went camping and ATV riding a few weeks ago. I meet new people, have new experiences before I get too old and it really helps with my depression. Otherwise I would just take long naps on the weekends and be depressed.

I think one of my biggest problems is anxiety

I looked it up and i have basically all of the symptoms and i can't be myself. Only when i was forced into socializing when i worked retail was i able to really get out of this funk but i don't have anyone to talk to anymore and my social skills are rusty af and i don't even know what to say to people anymore. I can't expect to socialize with people that are completely different than me or people that are like 50. It just doesn't work. I need someone my age to talk to that has some common interests but it's just so hard to meet anyone these days.

I have zero friends. I only talk to people on forum websites

cant get any girls and Ive tried every method possible. online dating, bars, clubs, grocery stores, hobbies

I still read this Forum every day...without fail. (Or, more accurately said, I always read every post, even if I get to them a few-days-delayed.)

This, in spite of feeling that there isn't much that I can say to any of you, that is likely to make much of a difference. I never want to say something that is hurtful, but you also have your own circumstances which of course I have nothing more than WORDS to address. Regardless, I am always hoping to read about any of you finding something - a job, a GF or BF or even a bestie with no thought of dating or such, a new hobby, a med regimen that works well, a good therapist, improved health, a very happy surprise. Yes, which-ever of any of these that may apply to you. In short, whatever comes along, and reminds you (or shows you) what happiness is.

I haven't posted these thoughts in a while, probably about a year, so it's certainly high-time to say this again. I can only give you my words. I hope there is some reassurance that there's somebody out here who cares about you, even though I'm pretty much entirely certain that none of us will ever meet, or even talk. That doesn't matter.

May you all find at least PART of what you're looking for. My heart is full of hope for that.

Has anybody heard from 2RD EYE? I haven't seen him around in, like forever.

Going to get back on parnate and it was stupid how that psyche ward got me off it.. mainly because the pharmacy they deal with didn't carry any so they've decided to cut me loose... I really need to feel like that person I was while on parnate again. It was amazing and truly a miracle pill... so much drama in my life including my father police trying to kill me about a year ago and how the justice system failed me again. I'm an extremely good, kind, and caring person and I don't deserve this... I got a good job but I wish I could meet new people again,, it's just this terrible anxiety and depression stopping me

Feel so lonely there's just no sense of community anymore. Even on forums i don't feel the same sense of community there used to be. I used to have that but now it's like all there is to do is either work or just look at social media all day to pass the time. I can't just sit down and enjoy video games or a tv show anymore. At work i try to socialize with people but it doesn't work we might have a couple convos but it's just random stuff that doesn't go anywhere.

I just remember years ago always having a community, everything was still fun/interesting and relationships were better. Now it's just boredom, depression and anxiety. Sucks man.

I'm probably in the best physical shape I've been in overall in a few years & it still don't make me feel better. What sucks about depression is it just sticks with you no matter where you are. You can't just escape your own mind if it doesn't let you feel good.

Yeah, I never have anywhere to go anymore. I barely go out unless I'm at work. I just purchase everything I need online instead of going out & wasting money on gas. I would love to go on vacations but I have no one to go with so there's no point. It would just lead to more depression knowing I'm all alone while everyone else around me is having a good time with their friends or partner. I'm mainly just watching movies, playing video games or browsing the internet these days. I really haven't cared much the past few years of having a g/f since it's too difficult these days to date in the social media era.

Yeah my life is similar. I avoid going outside the house when possible. Every time i leave the house i am just reminded that no one cares. Theres lots of people who go out and do things like travelling solo but i find it too hard

You can travel with small groups if the prospect of travelling alone unnerves you. You pay the overall cost and the organisers will handle the logistics.

Give this a read and see what you think. It is something I would like to do in the next few years.

My ex returning into my life 1.5 years later is resulting in a lot of mixed emotions and insomnia. It's 5:10am here now and I normally sleep in until 8am with WFH.

I mean it took me months to get over him and I finally do, and then he decides to re-enter my life and say he made a mistake, that I treated him like a prince, etc. But it doesn't matter as he's working in a foreign country. Still it hasn't been easy so I am ignoring him now and I have been for over 24 hours.

Yeah I'm contemplating traveling with a group abroad. I travel alone in the US and I enjoy it, although it can be a little unnerving to always eat alone in restaurants amongst people with families and couples. But I've learned to cope with it. In fact I've met some exes this way as they have approached me while I dine alone.

Even when i go places i feel alone like i have no connection with people really so socializing either never happens or it's awkward if it does. I just don't fit in anywhere anymore which is why i'm in this position in the first place. And yeah everything can be done online now basically i've lost interest in going out to eat or going shopping everything can be bought online or on amazon. Beats waiting in a line.

Also you can barely say anything anymore. Any little thing can offend someone now so what is the point in even socializing?

Yeah that would be better than travelling solo. If we get along well then i think its easy to have a great time travelling in small groups

How do you cope with the travelling alone part. I've done it most my life and still find it hard. Not just restuarants, but gyms, shops, parks, i always find the loneliness difficult to manage and it gets worse when i see groups of people

It's impossible to relate to people too at work i try to have convos but it's just unfamiliar stuff or like we will talk about video games but the convos are all over the place. They don't go anywhere. Everyone is just in their own little world either looking at their phone or watching netflix or have ear buds in.

Nobody even posts itt anymore there used to be hundreds of FA's so you could at least relate to people about that. There's just nothing to do at all anymore.
