No idea about the current situtation on who's holding it, but it's definitely denied from the Russians. Ukrainians shelled it to chit after it was taken from them when the VDV linked up with the arriving ground forces.

They dropped hundreds of them on the Hostomel airport alone, trying to take it over multiple times. This doesn't take into account how many were dropped in Kharkiv or Mauripol, and they don't control any of these places. And if you are trying to suggest thousands of Russians havent been killed, I don't know what to tell you. Do you think the bodies will just be layed out covering the ground for weeks? More than 2,500 soldiers' corpses had already been shipped from the Homel region back to Russia by trains or by plane as of March 13, according to one employee of the Homel regional clinical hospital.This was a WEEK ago.

ONE hospital has sent more than 2500 dead bodies from Belarus back to Russia. No telling how many bodies were just thrown in ditches.

I dont believe the figures of killed from either side (including us/uk), but its clear that a lot of russian troops have been killed in this. Definitely more than the 400 hundred claimed by russia, less than the 14,000 claimed by ukraine though.


To put that into perspective, the US lost 170 during the month long invasion to capture iraq in 2003.

The battle for Hostomel airport happened over 10 days with Russia securing it for a day before getting shelled into oblivion, was a huge strategic spot Russia wanted to bring in more troops outside of Kiev via air, it never happened.

Do you have any Russian sources suggesting they control this airport right now?

Paratroopers are more high speed than regular grunts, but most paratroopers aren’t Rangers.

They dont control hostomel.

Over the past 2 days they have been pushed back on the northwestern front of kyiv.

We know this because we have satellite images of newly dug in defensive russian positions north of hostomel. And we have geolocated fire fights between the two sides north east of the airport.

The russians have stalled and dug in the past few days, which i assume is done to wait for resupply and rotation. Dug in infantry positions would imply they have no plans for an offensive further into kyiv region in the immediate.

The russian paratroopers are their elite units. Blue barets. They have their own “day” in russia lol, srs.

I refuse to believe this with out substantial evidence. If this the best of what Russia has to offer then they're not even close to being a superpower.

Ive posted multiple articles stating the VDV use in hostomel, kharkiv, and mauripol. As well as spetnaz trying to overthrow and start a coup in Kiev even before this war officially started.
