Yes it’s ideal.

proper co parenting that doesn’t impact on kids welfare is rare

A good dad and mom in the same house is needed for a kid to turn out optimally.

I have like a 90% success rate of guessing if a person I meet has a present father.

A good mom and dad is the ideal scenario.

But single dads are wayyyyy better than single mothers and all the empirical data proves it.

Single mothers are too afraid to discipline their children whereas men aren’t.

By every measurable metric it's better.

Except for maybe future NFL player, they seem to come from a lot of single moms for some reason.

68% of last year's draft class were raised by single mothers or grandmothers according to Bruce Arians yesterday on Pardon the Interruption.

This^^

Although there are probably many instances where it may be better to co-parent if the environment is toxic when both parents are under the same roof.

your scenario is based on make believe. Its impossible to be perfect parents in a two parent household with great communication. Forget about living in different houses, more than likely not speaking 24/7....etc for you to think they would be able to be near perfect.

Yes the majority of people believe that practices proven over thousands of years are still good for childhood development. Records from medieval England show the dominance of the nuclear family then as well.

There are only two types of actual "privilege" that exist. The first is wealth privilege. That is real. The second is privilege of having two parents in a home who set high expectations for their children, are involved in their childrens lives and regularly communicate the importance of education. That privilege transcends race, color, gender, and economic status. Those children will always have an edge on those who do not have this.

People are more likely to change/grow/etc for the better (& thus be better parents) when they get out of toxic relationships so kids with happy, separate parents > kids with unhappy parents who stay together IMO.

I'm bias as a happily divorced co-parent though.

Disagree unless the parents are horrible parents and fight in front of the kid etc. Two parents keeping up appearances and being their for their children will always be better than divorce.

At night child needs comfort: Momma? and the dad walks in. It's nice, but not the same; there's something to be said about a mothers love.

During the day the childs bike breaks: Daddy? Mom walks over and says she can't fix it but dad will fix it next weekend or take it to the bike shop. It's nice but not the same.

Having two parents to fulfill their roles at the correct time is ideal; having stability knowing those parents are there when you need them is key to growth. Even at age 16-17.

I knew of a few families that co parented very well, but the one thing they all had in common was the lack of animosity between parents. They were mature enough to understand the role each other played and didn't undermine each other. With the exception of 1, which was a girl, the boys stayed with their dads during HS years and visited mom on the weekends to make sure they were kept in line during the puberty years. It can happen, but it takes two people willing and committed to raising their child despite not being able to maintain a romantic relationship with each other. With that said, it is ideal that a child is raised in a two parent, nuclear household. The child needs to experience the different ways men and women love, guide and create structure. They also need to see how a healthy relationship functions. How mothers and fathers work together to create a safe, and loving environment. Will it always be perfect? No, but that's a side they need to see as well.

A great single parent is going to trump two chitty parents, but in general, a child will do much better in life having both parents present and living under the same roof.

Typically parents who can't put their petty bull**** aside and stay together for the sake of the children aren't mentally capable of co-parenting properly anyways.

I took a sociology class on family dynamics and we had to watch some video where they interviewed a bunch of kids whose parents split. 100% if them said they wish their parents would get back together, stop fighting with each other, and stop using them to get back at the other parent. Don't underestimate how pathetic, childish, and petty split parents can be.

Plus do you really want your kids hanging around random dumfuk dudes your kid's mom brings around?

Lots of schitty people I know were raised by two parents at home. Quality of parenting is probably more important than simply double presence in the house. I guess you can do double the damage if both parents are dogschit at parenting.

That is wierd and also is following this trend where people are bragging about co existing with the ex'es of the relationships and calling each other mom and mommy. It's just another celebrated discrepancy.

That is true, and all that proves is that they dump their kids with the closest male role model which is sports. They can't educate them properly so they push the physical side. Hoping they don't kill their girlfriend or themselves by the time they are in their thirties and just make some business decisions.

There are still key elements that you are leaving out due to two parents who are teaching their children that even though there are difficult times, you can figure it out and survive without bringing down the entire house.

You can’t be a good parent if you don’t sleep under the same roof

You need to be there in the middle of the night, in the morning, you should always be letting your children know you are there and love them. That’s how a family bond develops. A family that doesn’t have that bond will never be as strong. Everything else is cope.

I split up with my ex when my kids were really young and my youngest can't even remember us being together. So it's normal for them and we co-parent really well. So far both kids are doing super well and it's seven years later. We communicate well and are on the same page about pretty much everything and the kids know it.

To me it's way better that they have two happy and engaged parents in separate houses than two in the same house who are checked out and don't have a good relationship (which is what I grew up with).

You need a two parent household with dominant father. Two parent home with a eunuch/cuck father or female dominant is as bad as a single mom household. A single father household is acceptable too but again the father cannot be a bitchmade.

There is no way around this, this is fact. Boys and girls need a strong father more than anything else.
