She was stabbed 50 times-highly unlikely this is not something very personal. If the person wanted to kill the kids then they could of done easily. So it is far more likely either a hit ordered by the husband while he secured his alibi in Oregon, somebody she had an affair with, or a woman/guy her husband had an affair with who saw her as being in the way, or somebody in the house than some random lunatic.

Surely this case can be solved almost immediately just by tracing phone records and location of said phone when the text was made. I'm sure they have the tech to do that. Just contact the service provider
