Celebrating 21 years of marriage. Life is good (throwback pic)

I know there are a lot of people who trash many of the aspects of marriage.

Just wanted to say it is not always bad. Married 21 years today. My wife is the best thing that has ever happened to me. In 21 years we have never had an argument about money and never one about how to raise our kids. We have had disagreements for sure, but never fought about the things that seem to really divide people. It has not always been easy, but it is worth it.

32 years ago, I took her to my prom. 11 years later we married and now 21 years later, I am still motivated to be a better man because of her.

Life is good when you find someone you are willing to put before yourself. Even better when they are worthy of it and give you the same in return.

Yes marriage isn't bad provided you find the right girl. Luckily you found her way before all this mess.

I throw my positive vibes towards you to last 20 more.

I'm on 23 years. Marriage is only right if it's with the right person, but if it is with the right person, it is awesome.

Congrats man.
I also shake off the naysayers as having no idea what a good relationship is even supposed to look like, let alone being able to find and sustain one.

Wife and I will hit 12 years later this month with 6 years of dating prior to popping the question.

Congrats sir. She looks genuinely happy AF and you were quite Chadly. Wife and I are only a two and a half years into our vows, but same as y'all have yet to have a single fight over money or how we raise our little one, or really anything that could be truly considered a "fight" for that matter. Disagreements of course, but not one FIGHT in over 4 years now.

Thanks all. Just see so many negative things, but the positives do exist. I am not sure why I am so lucky, but I knew when I was 17 that she was the one. We dated until I was a sophomore in college and then broke up. We both had the opportunity to experience life and found our way back together.

I am not a very good person. I was never a good boyfriend to anyone but her. I cheated, and put myself and my needs first. But something about my wife has always just instinctively made me want to make her happy. I had thought it was only 'puppy love' memories from when I was younger, but after getting back together I got hit over the head like a ton of bricks again, and was just as 'head over heels at 27 as I was at 17.

But in her defense, she is worth it. She is the most selfless person I have ever seen. She has given up all of her life for our family. And I have worked hard to provide for her to have that option. We lead a very traditional life. Since my wife was pregnant with our first child, she has not worked outside the home. And she has always worked harder than I ever could.

I have done pretty well for us in life, and she wants nothing in the way of material things. She only thinks of others. ALWAYS. Really almost crazy, but like I said, she has always inspired me to be a better person. And I know I am much better of a person than I would have been without her. (I would probably be on my 2nd or 3 wife and I probably would have been the cheater).

BUT I caution, it did take work at times. We came close to very hard times. A common thing where you build resentment when the kids are young. I also used to be a work-a-holic, always chasing MOAR. I did not give my wife the support I should have when the kids were very young.

It took us both a while to get past that an mend our relationship. But we both wanted it to work. It did take some years though. My advice is always put each other first and dont let small issues become big ones.

So happy for you man. I wish young couples had the values to get married today. Instead we have a generation of filthy sloots riding the cawk carousel and brahs being either too beta to meet women or just end up degenerates smashing whores and feeling worthless about themselves for life.

We have to go back srs.

This is kinda funny in a way. The great thing is when you dont need to have secrets from a person. We both know all about each other. We met as kids and I was her first, and she was my 2nd. (I just screwed some slutty girl just to get rid of my v card). But We always stayed in touch even when apart. We never kept anything from each other. She knows about every sex act that I can remember and even knows when I cheated on her when we were young and I know how she cheated on me in college.

It is a wonderful thing to know someone well enough that you dont have to hide. I almost fuked our marriage up about 10 years ago. I am glad I did not work around a lot of women or I might have. But I had a 'grass is greener' outlook, and it was really me unhappy with the place I had brought our relationship to. My wife was dedicated to the kids and I was not helping. I did not give her the attention she should have had, and frankly I am lucky a guy was not around to steal her away. (although she is of much greater moral fiber than I).

Anyway, I realized my mistakes. It is one of my few regrets in life. But life is good. No need to cheat for me. I still find my wife hot as hell. Life is good man.

Ha! Great question. I did not! She was a good girl and had not given it up yet. I actually had forgotten that. She was actually sick with mono at the time but still went with me. Her glands were all swollen in her neck and I know she was not feeling great that night.
