No I haven't taken it but it's pretty popular among bodybuilders/athletes in general.
Ah, I remember looking up ostarine for its healing properties, it was on a peptide site which looked very dodgy. I'm guessing u can't get this stuff legally?

Hmmm, why are they taking it? Would've thought it would be viable for the elderly.

When were u diagnosed with this?

I've seen u mention this before, being a tough guy about pain is unrealistic. I thought, pffft, I'm a man, not a clown. But then I realised that this will last for the rest of your life, will get worse. I look around and see people who don't even know what a headache is. Perfect health, but freak out/suicide when their case of the sniffles lasts 3 days instead of 2. So having invisible pain is really a pointless nag. An extreme one that'll just screw with u forever.

i havent gotten an mri in a long time, and i should. i would be curious to see what it says. i know mine said canal stenosis, arthritis as well

it has also affected my shoulders, but moreso only with specific movements. and i played baseball forever so im not entirely sure if i could have torn a labrum or something
Ah right, so doesn't it concern u? Does ur lower back hurt at all?

That's interesting, do u think ur discs have healed at all based on how it feels?

Why do u think ur shoulder has been affected by ur lumbar issues? Has it thrown off ur posture at all?

Also, in regards to ur shoulder. Check out this thing called the shoulder horn. Price is a scam since u can do this on any surface. Novelty of it is that it positions you perfectly for shoulder external rotation exercises. (People always fail since their prime movers (delt, upper traps) take over or they instinctively lean all over the place.) This bar locks u in place unlike a regular surface, slip backwards and you've destroyed everything. Should external rotation is usually very weak, this gadget will train it perfectly.

What do u think?

not really. i'm SUPER active and like i said.. day to day it doesn't hamper me. maybe like after lots of hours on concrete. but lifting for 5 hours and working? no.

my shoulders only certain movements i rarely ever do

i am a bit worried about it in the future, but not entirely sure what i can do other than what i can do about it; abs and glutes exercises, not hurting it, maybe some exercises and chit if it hurt my really bad, etc., etc.

as far as healing? i'm not sure. i could see it going either way. i def. don't think it's gotten way worse. maybe a tad worse

What do u mean by on concrete? Would it be any different if u got insoles?

What do u think about that product I said LOL.

When exactly did this all start for u? Try bracing exercises too.

Why does ur hip hurt? Did you try getting to the root cause? Or did you just end up with trying to suppress the pains?

Yeah, a surgeon is on the refferal list.

Also, what is that picture in your avatar? I've seen that for years.
I was the biggest weed skeptic for pain relief, I really was, but there are times where it takes away 100% of the pain. It doesn't help every time I use it, though. It's weird like that, but when it works... man... it's a different world. Only bad thing is that it makes me paranoid as ****, so I only use it like 4-6 hours before bed. All that said, I have tried most pain meds. Oxycontin, morphine, ********, dilaudid, xtampza, oxycodone, etc. Weed has given the most relief but it's consistency and paranoia are the problems with it. Can be the bud, a vape, tincture, edibles.

Another really helpful thing is a pain pump. It's a very small machine that would most likely be implanted in your lower back with a catheter that goes into your spinal canal intrathecally. The machine pumps whatever liquid narcotic into the spinal canal over 5 minutes in doses of micrograms. Bypasses the stomach and everything, so that's why it's in such a low dose, but it does work. Pain dr screwed up and gave me the lowest capacity, so I have to go to his office once every month and a half to get it refilled, which is just a needle stick in my stomach (where my pump is because I can't have it in my back due to the wheelchair). The higher capacity pump would double that timeframe. It also doesn't get you high or anything and you have no control over it. It's all programmed by the doctor staff and takes about 6 months to get the dose perfect. To find out if you're a good candidate for it, they bring you into the OR (only because there's a machine there that allows the dr to see where the needle is as he's maneuvering it into your spinal canal in real time) and basically give you an epidural with either morphine or dilaudid. You can either choose to be put to sleep or get a lidocaine injection to numb the area before the epidural. If you get good relief from it, you can get the permanent pump. The battery lasts about 7-9 years, IIRC, and when the battery dies, they do another surgery and detach the catheter from the pump and just swap out the old pump for a new one, which is pretty damn quick. You can also have an MRI with a pain pump, but the medication would have to be drained before the procedure. After the procedure, it's put back in. This is just a safety precaution.

Another non-drug option is a neurostimulator. It's another small gadget that gets implanted in your back with an electric lead that goes in the spinal canal and rests against the cord. It applies a small electric current to the cord, which disrupts the pain signals being sent to the brain. It was amazing until it moved. I twist a lot getting in and out of my car, so that's how we think it moved. Eventually, it stopped helping as much so we changed the cylindrical lead to a paddle (basically a biggish circle to cover more area) and that helped better for a while until it moved again (I'm very active lol). Put it back in place and was good until the pain increased to the point that it was useless. Got it taken out in December, but it was good for years. This also has a trial period. They surgically stick a lead in your canal and you have some stuff coming out of your back that's attached to a battery with some intensity controls for 5 days. The paddle lead would require a laminectomy (removal of the back part of the vertebra because you can't squeeze it in like you can the smaller, cylindrical lead. You can get a neurostimulator with a rechargeable battery or not. To recharge it, you're given a battery pack that has a cord with a flat surface at the end of it. Take that flat surface and rest it against your skin, where the battery is, and voila! Charge the battery through your skin. If the battery is dead, it takes a long damn time to recharge it. You can also have an MRI with these, depending on the battery. I've had both a rechargeable and not rechargeable battery, and with one of them I was unable to have an MRI (can't remember which). You also get a controller when you get the implant. The company that makes the neurostimulator will have a representative there at the surgery and will be able to program it to your liking as well as answer any questions and show you how to operate the controller. They had 3 different programs on mine. Depending on what you want, you can choose which program you want to work and can adjust the intensity. I preferred the program that caused a tingle where my pain was. I was able to focus more on the tingling instead of the pain.

Yeah, man. I understand not wanting drugs, but it can make life easier for you while you figure out what is the correct way of fixing your issues. Anything that helps elevate your quality of life is worth trying, IMO. You just have to be VERY strong willed. Don't let friends talk you into giving them some, don't overdo it, etc. As long as you know the risk and are not trying to get high, you'd be okay. (I'm not telling you to get on pain meds. Just trying to help you see the options is all). I don't want to say that you should or should not get on them. That is entirely up to you. I just know that they can 100% help you, butyou will keep having to increase the doses of opiates because your tolerance will come into play and you'll need more for the same relief. It's a slippery slope and getting off of them can be a big ol' bitch. You obviously wouldn't start with some crazy strong stuff. They'd start you off on something with a low dose like vicodin, hydrocodone, oxycodone, etc and increase the dose and type of med as you discover if it helps or not. Its important to know what your pain feels like, because there's ****tic and neuropathic pain. ****tic is like muscle, bone, bruise, ache, etc. Neuropathic pain is like a sharp, stinging pain. Those don't use opiates. That's like Neurontin (Gabapentin) and Lyrica (Pregabalin). Lyrica is a decent bit stronger than Gabapentin.

We don't know why my hip hurts. I've been seeing my current pain doc since, I believe, 2016 (I need to get a new one). MRIs, CTs, Xrays, etc. There's nothing obvious in any of the images that points to the cause. It just ****ing hurts. Nonstop, day after day, every second. One day I just noticed an uncomfortable feeling and as the years have gone from uncomfortable to borderline unbearable. Had the biggest surgery of my life in December, which was a spinal fusion revision (removed titanium rods because they bent and replaced them with carbon steel rods) from T7-L3 (but the incision is from upper back to about 6" above butt crack), neurostimulator removal, spinal cord transection at T10, and a cordotomy at T9. It didn't do anything close to what I wanted. The neurosurgeon either screwed it up, or my pain is bypassing the injury site in my spinal cord (T10) somehow, and I'm pretty sure the answer is the latter. Before the surgery, rubbing my hands together would cause the hip pain to skyrocket as long as I was rubbing them together. After the surgery, that doesn't happen anymore, so that's a silver lining, I guess lmao.

My avatar is the MRI of my T-spine from, I think, 2012.

I am not on anything. Nothing has worked. I have tried a ton of stuff, all the things that were legal at my age. From amitriptyline to nefopam, hardcore paracetamols, crazy benzodiazepines. I may try again, but it won't fix the root cause of anything of course.

I am going insane, nothing but extreme 24/7 pain. Can't even walk, lay down/sit, keyword is that it's just unbelievable painful, not to even mention the discomfort.

What do u plan on doing? Me? Waiting for referrals, going crazy.

Thanks.
I had no idea. My issues started in 06 with lower right back pain. I no longer have that pain, but that's either because one of the many procedures that I've had has fixed it, or it's because the hip is so bad that I don't realize the back pain. I can't see any of those, especially the benzos, helping your pain. It kind of irks me that someone actually prescribed you benzos for debilitating pain.

I can't say exactly, because we obviously have different issues causing our pain, but I know what you're going through, man. You are not alone.

I'll be getting a new pain doctor in the next month or two. He was good for a long time, but he really ****ed me over with my last surgery, so I've lost faith in him. Before I do that, though, I want to have a discussion with him about the possibility of me having reflex sympathetic dystrophy in the hip.

With your referrals, don't just sit around and wait. If you don't hear anything from them or the doctor that they're referring you to after a week or whatever, call the referred doctor's office and ask them if they've received it. Call your doctor and ask them if they've sent it. I can't tell you how many times I've had to do that and it's ridiculous.

I know it's hard to be patient when you're in miserable pain, but that's what we have to be. It's either be patient or give up, and we're not quitters, my friend.

I haven't read through the entire thread. But I wouldn't go the surgery and cortisone route. Stem cell injections if anything.

This might be terrible advice so don't do it. But I had an impingement on my spinal cord and it sucked for 6 months until I said fuk it and started lifting heavy again. Was pain free within a few weeks. Think it strengthened my back and core and stabilized better. Idk but just my experience. You seem to have more severe symptoms.

Ostarine is a sarm and completely different than the peptides he listed. It's more like a steroid than a healing peptide. I'd stay away from that.

They are both supposedly very effective for wound repair and healing in general. BPC-157 can be prescribed and is not banned by WADA so plenty of athletes use it. TB-500 is still considered a research peptide (only used for research) and is banned by WADA. Th eonly thing is that injectable is the most effective way of taking it (oral, nasal spray, transdermal are all bunk).

Wow, much appreciated for all of this! I did see your other responses, but I can't quote them all. I tried to mention them here.

So, when you say that weed takes away all of your pain, how does that translate to regular day to day things? E.g, if you cut your finger or banged your head on something.

That pain pump thingy sounds very cool. I may enquire about that with a doctor. Where did you buy yours? Is it expensive or did u get it for free with your hospital stuff?

I did try something called an ems/tens machine. Is that similar to that neurostimulator thingy you mentioned? I highly doubt it since your one breaches the skin, the tens/ems is on the surface.

Thanks for advising me on pain medicines. Do you find yourself stacking pain medicines? As you mentioned, certain pain medicines work for different things.

In regards to your hip pain, do u have apt? Sounds dumb, but I owe my lumbar issues to my pelvis being so harshly tilted, the sheering forces of walking added nerve pain to the equation. The vertebrae just became very unstable since then.

Hmmm, do you think you could've healed naturally on your own? (Your lower right back pain) Same way when you strain your lower back in a deadlift, it takes over a month to heal. Very strange how the body works.

They may have prescribed benzos and milder things because I was 15 when they gave me those. I'll ask again since I'm over 18.

So what is a pain doctor? Do they just try to pacify you? Incidentally that is on my list of referrals.

Very true, I am hounding them every other week asking when my appointments are. I am being proactive about it, it's just a waiting game for now. I am just doing exercises to stabilise my spine and gait exercises.

How about you? Sure, get rid of the pain, but how's your quest for finding the root cause?

Why not surgery or cortisone? I thought a cortisone shot would be good for my shoulders.

What lifts were u doing? Compounds? Very risky if you did that haha. Maybe literal time had just gone by, so in that time your back healed? What do u think of that?

Yeah I'm aware. I read something about tendon/bone healing. If you look around for it, they sell them on sites that sell peptides. I also didn't want to call them their name since the last time I said that my thread got closed.

I was going to buy it since it's so mild, but then I realised you buy them from the same market you buy proper roids from lol. So why buy the wimpy version of the real deal. (Not planning on doing anything like that)

Thanks for explaining.

I don't think this stuff is around in UK. Have u ever tried this stuff?

I'll ask and see, worst case scenario it doesn't work.

So, should I just ask my doctor? You mentioned it being a research peptide, I remember that being the slogan on all those crazy sites :/

Yeah, they mentioned fibromyalgia like 2ish years ago. I feel as of that was a label. You know, as to say "mystery pain".

I've seen people with knee pain and elbow pain claim it. Then claim money working 0 hours in 40 years, sucks how the world works.

op i have herniated discs and I am in pain every day myself. onto my 3rd chiropractor who i have seen 3 times now. best result so far was 2 days almost no pain.
you can try an inversion table. get a decent quality one and not the cheapest chit.
reading through, i will look into pilates and PT in the future, and the bpc-157 immediately.

This sounds like a genetic issue tbh. The reversed neck curvature is really bizarre. Many people have flatter necks now due to phone use and chitty computer posture, but for there to be a reversed curve is pretty rare. With that said, structural abnormalities are not necessarily the root cause of pain. Lot of ppl have disc bulges with no pain, for example

You may have to approach this differently, maybe see a rheumatologist if you're saying it's widespread. Might have to bite the bullet and go to the mayo clinic. If you've already done all of that and medication isn't working, then switch to a psych approach (e.g. Dr. Sarno TMS stuff)

What do I think? Best form of exercise might be to walk in the pool.

Thanks.
would absolutely advise to do something, ANYTHING besides sitting all day. I understand youre in alot of pain right now but if you become sedentary (or as misc calls it... rotting) you'll have significantly more health issues

I'm from NYC so I honestly have no idea about UK. From what I've read online, it's not available as a prescription in UK and most people order it online. Problem is trying to find a legit site that sells it.

Yeah, so whats your level or expertise, education, and professional licensure in?
Always funny to see people claiming miracle cures, who have no foundation in evidence, making baseless claims online.

92% of back pain will improve without surgery.
8% wont.
Perhaps your "method" works for the 92% of people that could do anything and improve without surgery. for the 8%--no, you dont have a magical wand.

A large part of the skill in education is clinical triage of who is appropriate for surgery and who isnt. A monkey can memorize some oversold posture program and sell it to the back pain world--and statistically, 92% it will "work" to avoid surgery using yiur "method". Same with McKenzie... same with walking.

So again, what is your level of expertise/what footing do you have to obnoxiously question my thought process here?
