Have SWAT at every school?
More strict gun controls?
Abolish the 2nd Amendment(This will never happen) t and ban guns?
Make getting a gun license more difficult?

TV news station don't broadcast about active serial killers because they don't want more copycats. Same with people who streak at sporting events.
The first hour after a mass shooting the media does everything they can to learn more about the shooter to use it for political purposes (Race, religion, political affiliations, sexual status, etc)
Not saying this would stop shootings, but in a highly narcissistic social media driven society, the way these murderers are covered in the news certainly promotes more of them.

Somehow make it more difficult for an 18 year old to walk into a store and buy two assault rifles. That's a good start.
And before the misc starts screaming how "he'd just get it from the black market", at least he'd have to take that extra step.

Hire armed security guards to supplement the ISD officers on site.
Provide funding to schools for bulletproof doors and exterior windows.
Automate door locks to prevent anyone from accessing the building without prior approval.
Bring back firearms education into high schools

We would have to undo a century worth of moral, psychological, and spiritual decay.
In the meantime the best we can do is patchwork. More security = a greater security state but it should have some effect. Banning guns = a more tyrannical government and a defenseless law abiding populace. Allowing teachers/staff to carry is an option and they have skin in the game so instead of relying on a cop to be a hero you rely on someone defending themselves and their students. Though I could see the fallout of an accident/crime happening from an armed staff member.

I don't think there are any really good practical solutions. I'm not in favor of making any changes in laws. The ideal change would be to fix families, that would be a win/win for everyone, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. Might be able to make some incremental changes by increasing security.
Mass shootings are ugly, and people really respond to them emotionally, but I think if mass shootings are someone's justification for more gun control they are missing the forest for the trees. Mass shootings make up a tiny fraction of firearm related deaths. Suicide is actually the largest portion, followed by non-mass shooting homicides. Accidental gun deaths occur more frequently than mass shootings.

In this history of humanity no society has ever been able to PREVENT murder. You cant. What we can do is increase security at schools, ban media from releasing the names and pictures, and increase mental health.

Defund the police. Put transgender clinics in every public school. Ban singing the national anthem.
These are the fundamentals you need to follow for a progressive society.

Also i said this yesterday but every governor needs to activate national guard troops and guard every public school( lets say 3 to 5 per school) which is very doable.

Biden has sent $53B to the Ukraine. There are 130,000 K-12 schools in the country. That's $400,000 per school. Not a bad start. Schools need security, its that simple.
LOL at universal back ground checks or a 48 hour waiting period. None of those would have solved this latest school shooting.
Everyone focus's on gun control when we should be focused on school security. You will never take the guns out of bad guys hands, never.
