This irked me for two reasons, one is a non-spoiler from the comics, because it won't happen here - but in the comics, when Maeve turns on HM, she attempts to cut him with her sword. It breaks on his face and barely scratches him, he gets annoyed and tells her it's a fuking prop and snaps her neck or something. It's like he got hot because she even tried to hurt him with a stupid toy.

It's like -- with the "magic" bracelets blocking the heat vision - in that second it went against what this show was supposed to be. It's supposed to be what really would happen if people got powers, not like in the comics. If people really did have heat vision that cut through metal, flesh, bone, concrete like butter -- if you blocked it with some prop bracelets given to you by the marketing department of Vaught, they would melt instantly and he'd have sliced her in pieces, just like he does with everyone else besides guys specifically mentioned to be invulnerable.
I agree.

The writers basically lose their minds when things are actually about the story vs the propaganda.

Maeve does not have "magic bracelets" and Homelanders beams could not be blocked by any kind of metal we have. So, why not just have her do something else?

It's the same thing with the metal rod in Homelander's ear. Maeve could have used her FINGER!

She isn't supposed to be more indestructible than Homelander, but it's less stupid than a metal stick.

Was just extraordinarily disappointed with the way they ended it. Homelander's kid basically says, "**** you, mom!" and becomes Homelander's protege, Soldier Boy's end was dumb, Maeve situation was dumb, A-Train situation was dumb, Neuman dumb, etc etc.

Spoiler!
We all know that Butcher is going to get his hands on permanent compound V to not die.

Why wouldn't everyone just want to kill Newman from the beginning?

She's a mass murderer and can make your head explode by just thinking about it.

I still like this show but they really ruined that season something awful

No reason Maeve should be alive. And I honestly like Maeve, but that sh*t was stupid as fukk.

I don’t ever expect them to kill starlight but Jesus she’s such a useless c*nt

But really what bothered me the most was not understanding how we go from SB on the phone with HL at the end of the previous episode saying he would have been proud to let his son have the spotlight and take over, to wanting to kill him even after meeting his grandson

That sh*t made all of about 0 sense.
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

I think the idea with the Soldier Boy exchange was showing that even after saying how much his awful dad messed him up, he can’t do anything besides be awful himself because it’s all he knows and how he was raised. Made sense to me anyway.

I hope SB and black noir come back somehow in S4.

Can anybody tell me how Maeve lived?

Also, Starlight basically does nothing. It’s confusing.

But the dynamic between Homelander and Butcher is interesting. Ehh whatever. It’ll take a year or two to get another season. Doesn’t matter

Loved the season but the ending itself just didn't amount to anything.

Didnt even have the balls to kill Maeve. Like why.

Now season 4 will start off pretty much no different than season 3.

They need to end the plot armor and have real consequences for everything

Also awful finale

- meave surviving was a massive cop out

- everyone turning on SB made no sense

- lol show literally praising cucks as “real strength”

- star lights powers are worse than we even imagined

- butcher “saving” Ryan when he wouldn’t have even died, would just have been de powered

- show went in a giant circle from episode 1.

- Noirs death was a huge waste

- starlight going after SB when homelander literally massacred her friend supersonic

- hughie groveled and told starlight she’s right when in reality she’s wrong and butchers plan made the most sense

Should have:

- killed Maeve
- killed SB
- de powered HL for an interesting perspective next season before he gets them back
- kill either Frenchie or MM at this point
The evil **** off screen is the whole ****ing reason why his teams turned against and why MM and malery and pretty much everyone hated the prick.

Word of mouth lol. He very nonchalant about the innocent peoples he's killed before his freezing and after. Ep7 was all about him being a ****

Just finished the finale. The writing on this show has REALLY deteriorated. The plot moved almost nowhere over the course of the season, wild inconsistencies in power levels and personalities, multiple fake deaths, and an increasing amount of wokeness.

I'll still watch season 4 but I think we know where this is going.
I call it "Celebration". It's sexual, and violent...

They literally saved Maeve because she's a lesbian character.

The Starlight scene was totally bizarre and stupid. She is charging up like we have never seen before and she's ready to blast the hell out of Soldier Boy....then she EXPLODES....and he is harmlessly knocked but like five feet.

WHAT was THAT?!

The only explanation for Soldier Boy is that he's an "Ethical A$$hole" for lack of a better term. However, after telling Homelander he's his kid, it makes little sense. Also, Homelander does not seem like a "weakling" to anyone but himself in private moments, so why would Soldier Boy say that?

Finally...Soldier Boy was going to get rid of everyone's powers, including Homelander and his kid, but then Maeve FOR SOME REASON didn't like that and saved Homelander, etc.

On top of that, Homelander at that point could have taken his kid and left vs been exposed to Soldier Boy, who cannot fly.

Tons of thought put into a guy crawling in a penis and zero thought into the actual plot.

Whole show is dumb. Every single problem the protagonists have can be fixed with one dose of Compound V. But they're too stupid to realize.

My legs don't work, let me not think of taking the damn drug that fixes everything.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

This season started losing me after ********** was literally full potato but still jerking off HL. Last true memorable scene... SB was a cool character but they didn't do much with him... IDK just kinda a show I'll watch when it's on now but I absolutely loved season 1 and 2.

Alright, glad I wasn't having a fever dream or something with how trash that was for a finale. Herogasm had a better fight that didn't last a fraction as long.

In addition to everything below, the way they handled Black Noir's death was awful, undercuttingeverythingto just show some stuttering cartoons in the end.

Towards the end with the reveal of the new running mate that was supposed to be some kind of stinger twist was also weak. In line with what I'll say about Soldier Boy below, we had a fukkingNazisocial justice warrior last season and Homelander actually seems slightly (slightly) less unhinged with his son; head popper really doesn't seem like the worst person in the world.

What did Homelander even need The Deep for with that assassination? He just happened to know the running mate takes night swims (oddly specific) and that the best way to take him out is to have the guy who can talk to sea life hide underwater at night to stage a drowning?Thatwas the insidious plan of "tReAsOn?!" Maybe the writers need to spend less time trying to figure out how they can fit in Seth Rogan literally jerking himself off and more time on making the plot not suck.

At least soldier boy is alive, he’s the best chAracter in the show
That whole B plot with the daughter went from a nice touch to MM's backstory in the beginning of the show to the bowels of cringe by the third season. I think everyone involved in the production needs to get their test levels evaluated after taking a part in that.

Not to go too far on a tangent, but the first is also another example of the show digging its heels in telling us how we're supposed to feel without showing.Howis Soldier Boy a racist again? Because one old, creepy guy said so who you wouldn't trust that dude in a room full of girls at an 18th birthday? Or because accidental, unintended collateral damage is somehow racism as well now? The show even went out of its way to have Soldier Boy callBill CosbyAmerica's dad from how he remembered.

Like, we just had a season dealing with an SJW Nazi, they forced a race C Plot (that, again, they didn't show anything and just told us how everything went down), so put it back in the deck. The only thing that theydidestablish about Soldier Boy was that he's abusive, but that's hard to really give a sh*t about given the other kinds of characters in this show.

Overall, the writers really struggle to make characters morally ambiguousandconsistent episode to episode, which shouldn't be that bloody hard when they only have 8 episodes per season for god's sake.

You're right, though: only good thing that came of this finale was Soldier Boy was still alive because I was sick of at least half the characters before the episode was even over.

Instead, after a season's build up of everyone wanting to kill Homelander the whole crew is wailing on the one dude who only wanted to kill Homelander because he wanted to uphold the deal he made with Butcher.
Same here, man.

This wasthe whole pointthe entire series of events during this short-ass season were building towards, but the kid interfering and getting a harmless (for a supe) push to get him out of the way derails 7 episodes worth of build up so Butcher can pretend to be a father... and still lose his son?

My legs don't work, let me not think of taking the damn drug that fixes everything.
Thank you! As much as I enjoyed MM's character early on, he was flat out stupid this third season for no reason other than to be the single one holding off on taking some Temp V. It didn't even fit the character because Butcher was the one who was genocidal against Supes, but only went with it because of a, "by any means necessary" attitude. MMhadno reason other than the plot demanding he turn off his frontal lobe.

Starlight's entire role this season was to be the hypocritical nag telling everyone how they don't need Temp V, even though they're going against the most powerful supe who could bitch slap her head from her body. The ending is supposed to have her be "right," except that end scenario could only happen because of the events involving Temp V that led to it even occurring. You could even point out that had Hughie not bee on Temp V to teleport her out of the orgy, she would havealsobeen caught in the blast and lost her powers. Like this show can't even remember what happened a couple episodes prior.
