A world class chef moves back to Chicago to take over his family Italian Beef sandwich shop after a death in the family.

Most realistic look inside a restaurant I've ever seen on TV. Insanely intense at times, often funny, incredible acting by the entire main cast. One of the best shows I've seen in a while.

One of the later episodes is one of the most intense things I've seen in a long, long time. But it also has a lot of heart. Hope you dig it.

Watched first 2 episodes tonight. Episode one was incredibly fast-paced and chaotic in an very engaging way - much like Uncut Gems. Looks like a great show, definitely digging it. Thanks for recommending!

LOL'd when his old chef in NYC called him out for being a manlet. Something like having a chip on his shoulder because he was short. Lmao.

It's only 8 episodes, they left it open for a season 2 so here's hoping. Glad you dig it.

99% sure his old chef in the flashbacks is Joel McHale, lol.

Made a thread on this couple days ago but misc isn't up to date on their shows. Episode 7 is some intense chit, but the ending of season 1 didn't really make alot of sense to me.

10/10 show tho

Used the search feature and didn't find any threads (lol)

Episode 7 is insane. Agreed on the ending butSpoiler!
I think they wanted to give a happy ending and set up either a perfect closure if it only gets one season or leave the door open for S2. Would almost prefer it if that is the ending - I want more but they just nailed it.

As far as how it actually happened - I think his brother/"cousin" were laundering the coke money thru the business. The company his brother was writing all the untraceable payments to was a cannery. The drive by/dealers outside the Beef seems to point to a bigger crime org being involved

Hulu has Letterkenny?

And yeah the way he wins the crew over to believing in themselves is a little unrealistic but a great story arc. Its almost like a sports movie, Odessabrah. Texas Forever, Street.

Yeah man, Lip from shameless. He's the main character in this one and crushes it.

He has a legit 7-ish minute single take monologue in the finale where the camera is right up in his face, riveting scene.

A few subtle worthy level thick Chicago accents but that's it.

Uncut gems is good but if you haven't watched Good Time (prior movie from the same writer/director brother duo) you're a fukken dope srs.

Just saw the first episode and loved it, but not going to get attached because everytime you get hooked on a show they WOKE the crap outta it and start pushing some Ghey chit to normalize.

Good Time was decent, gritty flick.

Uncut Gems legit took me 3 goes to finish it. The movie was non stop arguing, so farking annoying. Got slightly better at the end. The only redeeming feature was Garnett was street af, his role was great.
