Around 2011-12 mods started banning the good posters in mass. Those who would push the lulz envelope, like YBD (rip, who hear how he’s doing these days). Trolling also started to become a lost art form and yeah, bs like Instagram and Twitter got bigger. Place was poppin and full of lulz when I joined in 2009

It’s weird that forums are dying because if you google a question, the answer is quite often on a forum. I’ve never seen a ******** page as the top hit.

The Misc is still pretty busy.

In the past 24 hrs there have been ~360 unique threads with new replies.

You have to go back to page 12 just to get to threads with last replies that were 24 hrs ago.

That's not exactly 'killed.'

Imagine how busy Misc will get once it's opened back up.





What all of bodybuilding.com forum really needs is ownership and management which cares about the health and success of the forum ... and the resulting good administration and moderation that would follow from good ownership/management. It has not had that in a long time.

I'm intimately aware of and have explored and thoroughly documented the many vast problems with the administration and moderation of this forum over the past decade and could literally write a book on it. To sum it up it has been nothing less than terrible and thoroughly destructive to the forum. Ultimately however those problems are not rooted in the problematic moderation, nor the problematic admin, but its creation goes all the way to the top.

A few things:

Bodybuilding itself is a dying sport

There are better places to connect with like-minded people

Moderation here was/is pretty strict while other sites have very little moderation

The sensible miscers trying to have a bit of fun have been crowded out by zealots

It's every forum. Happened around the time of ******** and Amazon. Getbig.com gossip and opinions was harder core and less moderated than here and it's dead too. All the car forums I used to also frequent are all ghost towns too. They all died with the rise of ********, Amazon, and even retard central Reddit. I don't think the nutty mods that caused trouble and who are gone now helped things here either though along with that non-lifting ****git wincel.
