I agree, if you want to do mail in ballots they need to arrive on or before election date. Its really not that hard, election is Aug 2nd, make the law that you must mail your ballot by 10 days prior or something. Let the mail in ballots arrive, and sit in a pile until its time to count.

So you think hundreds of thousands of mail in ballots should be counted in a few hours? They can't count the freaking ballot until the damn polls close. Then it's manually put ballot into machine. When explaining how ballots are counted, it’s important to distinguish between a ballot that is cast early and a ballot that is cast on election day. This can impact the process each ballot goes through before final tabulation. Every single voter’s identification is verified regardless of what type of ballot they cast.

Early Ballots

An early ballot is any ballot distributed to a voter prior to election day. For every election, early voting begins 27 days prior to the election. An early ballot package consists of the actual ballot, instructions on how to complete the ballot and the early ballot affidavit envelope. The early ballot affidavit envelope is used to verify the voter’s identity through signature verification. An early ballot cannot be counted unless the voter signs the EBA and the county subsequently confirms the signature matches the voter’s registration record. Once the County Recorder confirms the signature on the EBA matches the voter’s record, the ballot is transmitted to the elections office for tabulation.

Imagine if when you ordered something from amazon, you had to call in and talk to an old lady who manually input your credit card number into the system every time.

Orders would be screwed up, credit cards input wrong, you name it.

Thats what voting is like. Its really just a box of votes in someones trunk and they count them by hand. Its always old people doing it who are awake at midnight when they are normally in bed by 9pm.

We are still counting votes the same way we did when Lincoln was elected.

Imagine that same amazon scenario and there is no system of personal accountability or checks and balances so they could steal your items and credit card information. Do you think it would increase the chances of that happening? of course it would. Same with voting. Make the system so porous it practically advertises for criminals to participate in it.

Until that is fixed, it will always be rigged. Of course there is no desire to make simple fixes to bring it at least into the 20th century if not the 21st. The ones benefitting from it now are the ones who would have to change it.

The reason Florida was known on election night is that mail in ballots can be counted ahead of time. Other states can't count until the polls close and when you're talking millions of ballots that takes a long time.

The vast majority of states don't allow counting until election day. AZ does but if they get a ton of ballots right before or on election day HTF do you expect them to be able to count them all in one day?

"Arizona voters can expect to see the first batch of election results about an hour after the polls close Tuesday, with more to follow throughout the night, although it could take longer to determine winners in tight races.

State law gives county election officials 10 days to wrap up counting.

Maricopa County expects to release its first batch of results around 8 p.m. that will include early ballots largely cast last month. In a county where more than three-fourths of voters cast early ballots, this will represent a sizable chunk of the results.

From there, if all goes smoothly, election workers expect to tally votes cast in person on Tuesday and release those at intervals throughout Tuesday night.

There were primaries for both parties on Tuesday. Most counties turned their results in on Tuesday evening. Maricopa County is the problem once again (like 2020). It is run by a Democrat. The person in charge of the county actually just won the Democrat primary for Governor. That same person was at the center of all voting irregularities in 2020. People have an absolute right to be upset.

As I've said several times, Maryland still hasn't released final results for some races. Anyone who automatically thinks fraud because it takes the states largest county (by a mile) to count longer is a moron.
