"My outer appearance was poor, but in this way my inner world became richer than anyone else's. Was it not natural that a young boy who suffered from an indelible drawback like mine should have come to think that he was a secretly chosen being? I felt as though somewhere in this world a mission awaited me of which I myself still knew nothing." --Yukio Mishima

Have you ever heard of Backdrop/Backfill people? They are also known as Organic Portals. It's obvious there are a lot of "people" walking around that are essentially empty vessels, and have no greater purpose than to take up space. Think of Extras in a Movie filling up a scene, added for variation and to be background characters.
When I see those videos of drug addicts and homeless people strung out I get NPC vibes.
I mean the very purpose of social media was social engineering. Bots are programmed to sway discourse into certain directions or to plant disinformation. Hence, the rise of fake news.

Well the amount of bots and AI has increased a lot in the last decade now we have 90% of the population consuming the same stuff on a daily basis and that's what they become irl and that's how we got where we are now
Obviously you can just make your own channel or use individual sub reddits and it will be a little more random but even Reddit feels like your just posting to yourself nowadays

This is why it's important to unplug from time to time. That's why I do dopamine fasting, so I can reset and recharge. The content online is the equivalent of eating junk food all your life, and wondering why you're stagnant.

"We have an endless flow of immediate pleasures that's unprecedented in human history," he added.
Williams noted this could leave children struggling to focus on everyday tasks.
Prefrontal cortex is the area of the brain that helps humans control focus. While adults are able to fully use it, children cannot as the brain is still not fully developed until the age of 25.
Scientists warn that if the brain becomes accustomed to 'constant changes' - like those in the digital world - it finds it difficult to stay focused, Daily Mail reported.
The short-video platform was also an instant success in India soon after it launched in September 2016. Though it was banned in the country in June 2020, over national security issues, several homegrown short-form video platforms hurriedly filled the vacuum. They now collectively attract over 240 million active monthly users.
To take on TikTok, Meta, formerly ********, had also launched Reels on Instagram. With Reels, one can record and edit 15-30 second multi-clip videos with audio, effects and new creative tools.
TikTok and others draw users by monitoring which videos they spend the longest watching, and then showing them more videos similar to these.

Take most social media like tik tok and IG for example it would not get popular in 2011-2012 since nobody cared about that. But here we are 10 years later and it's all normalized. But like i don't understand how anyone even uses that chit. It isn't as good as old forums and old youtube so what's the point? Doing dumb dances and all the other dumb stuff. It's just ridiculous. Nobody would be doing that chit 8-10 years ago srs.

Google is fake. Search something big like "superbowl" and google will say there are BILLIONS of results, but when you keep clicking through the pages, its ALL the same repeated websites and usually ends on result page 20-50ish, NOT the amount google claims there is.
Another big one is that something like 60% of all people posting online are bots or AI.

The free/wild west internet we grew up with is dead, TheGoog has taken over and bots/fake internet is all we have left. Its boring as fuk now, and HIGHLY curated to push agendas and chit.

Alternative search engines would be a good start to avoiding the censorship.
