Yep. Majority of the time its for showing investors that you are reducing headcount and trimming costs while increasing profit margins. Just age old trickery to get people to invest. Always strategically timed with earnings reports etc.

A lot of people worked multiple WFH jobs during the last two years and stacked money, doing the bare minimum to stay under the radar and not even caring if they get fired from one. Pick one of them as the higher priority and only list that one on their resume and if they get fired from the others then just pretend it never happened.
