I keep hearing about a labor shortage but I cant get hired everywhere I have tried so far. I have even applied to mcdonalds and things like that. I am 33 years old, working on a cybersecurity degree, have about a year left and some certs. I need something part time that has a set schedule. I am even willing to work overnights. I tried to sign up for those delivery apps but they all said my truck is too old. It has 86,000 miles though and is a nice truck. I put an advert on craigslist offering lawn mowing service, nobody called or emailed. Idk what to do now I am getting frustrated. Should I just do those bug bounty things and hope I find stuff that gives a payout? I heard all the bug bounty programs suck unless you get invited to private ones.

I delivered food for an italian restaurant but I used to have a car that was good on gas. My truck gets like 11 miles a gallon, I could try to work at a place that is in a more rich area to get more tips idk. I thought the grocery delivery apps would be a good idea for me since the tips would make it worth it but they wont let me sign up because my truck is too old.

I graduated welding school and had my aws 6g smaw cert, could not get a weld test or interview anywhere other than one shop offering $12 an hour to weld trailers, and the ironworkers union, I passed the weld tests and they offered $15 an hour to drive 2 hours each way to do scaffolding for 2 years, not worth it, no per diem, 2 hours each way, scaffolding not welding, $15 before union dues and taxes, etc. I almost am done with my cybersecurity degree, tried to get in on a help desk role, no luck so far. idk what to do. I have tried mcdonalds, home depot, tons of places, no interviews.

pay a resume writing company $100-$150 to make a new resume and fresh template then wagecel max until you can grow your investments

Edit: I am in a bad situation, I have some debt I owe the VA from the pandemic, I withdrew from "in person" which was everything switching to online in the middle of the semester cluster fuk crap and I transferred to a university so now I owe the VA money starting next month. Also I need to hire a lawyer for something kind of serious, not criminal yet but I have this civil thing against me I need to get fixed asap but I have no money.

They shut down my college, shut down all businesses and churches for at least 4 months, shut down the county commissioner meetings for over a year and a half, made it a $300 fine for people to go anywhere without a mask until a month later then the governor said counties cant do that, so they switched from fining individuals to fining businesses and churches $300 if they let more than a certain amount of people inside a single building and $300 if they had a person with no mask. This place is fukin garbage I hate this place. I need to get a job I just need somebody to give me a chance. I am polite, I work hard, I do things the right way however I am told to do things, I follow instructions, I dont do drugs or anything. I just need a chance to prove I am a good employee.

i run a machine for 37/hr and literally just press start and stop on computer. machine does everything else. i just make sure it doesnt jam. if it breaks i get manitnance and jsut stand around until he fixes it. full benefits, matching 401k, even extra suff like 500/yr for massages and bout 350 for perscriptiosn glasses every 2 years. forklift drivers start at 22/hr. intro welders for 30+/hr.

look for any heavy duty manufacturing jobs, tracktor assembly, building materials supply (step up from rona/home hardware), steel mills, etc. way better then mcdonals or walmart, JUST LOL at even thinknig that after 20+

Apply at some dealerships as a lube tech. Not good money, but it can start a path to become a full tech if you like cars. Will need some tools to start out, but you can buy a craftsman set for a couple hundred.

I live in florida. You must be from the northeast or midwest. There are few unions here. I did get offered an apprenticeship for ironworkers union with 2 years cut off but they wanted me to drive 2 hours each way every day to not even weld, wanted me to do scaffolding, for $15 an hour. It is a fukin joke here in this state. The entire industry is basically services and tourism here within a 2 hour radius. I got an interview with CSX but you could tell after a question the HR woman changed her tone of voice with me and I knew right then I gave the wrong answer and I obviously didn't get the job. If I could get a union job I would be on it right now and not be in school currently for cybersecurity. I fukin hate computers. You don't have to become a mechanic, it's just a means of having an income until you find something for your skillset. You won't be doing anything hard, but you'll be getting dirty every day.

Oil/filter changes, tire rotations, inspections, engine/cabin air filters. Maybe occasionally a tech will ask for some help so they can lift/reach something easier. You'll stay busy with tech shortages.

When I got out I worked for a couple of years at Gavin de Becker. It got my foot in the door working in security. They have a preference for hiring vets.

There is no manufacturing here. I live in urban florida tourist area. There is little manufacturing. I would have to drive an hour and a half each way for any manufacturing and it would be food processing or working an assembly line doing pharma packaging for minimum wage. I would rather work close to here washing dishes or something for minimum wage but nobody wants to give me a chance to do that either. Got asked if I had experience washing dishes at the one place that would talk to me. Told them yes I washed dishes at the italian restaurant and mcdonalds and the guy said something like not the same, it would be a fast paced dish washing job, not an in between side task. Idk what to do this is making me really frustrated. I wish I was normal but it is like people can sense I am not normal. I try my best to act normal. I am clean cut, I shave, I shower, clothes are clean and not wrinkled. Idk what is going on. I used to think its just the HR women that dont like me but lately men have been acting weird with weird aggressive attitudes with me too.Yes I was in the marine corps and got out 10 years ago. I cant own a firearm at the moment, I have a serious issue going on, idk how much to say, basically some woman I have not seen or spoken to in 11 years is saying I am going around following her around in my truck and have an order out I need to get a lawyer to fix I hate this place and want to move away and disappear.
