Again. For some reason they chose this and it has been a strict rule.
I have nothing more to add on the subject cause I has no idea with their war logic.
But all I can tell you is that I dont believe in the kindness of the Russians and "brotherly love" between our nations, and why dont they deliberately destroy this or that civilian object without using all methods of reconnaissance and trivial Google maps or yandex maps, but something obviously doesnt work for them and maybe there is no logic or common sense here at all, it's probably a lot simpler than we think.

BTW did another mod or admin confirm recently that the memcop account is being used by who they think it is? Srs question. I want it verified. Let me be clear - I don't think it's likely but it's possible given numerous facts and the strange behavior of the memcop account this year -

given the fact that the Kremlin has a very large online army of paid shills targeting many countries aka online psyops program aka the Internet Research Agency(although there are other orgs/agencies of the Kremlin's psyops program than that one)

given the fact that although myself and others have had many threads here about Ukraine-Russia over the past nine years, the memcop account was never not once seen in the Russia-Ukraine discussion threads in the prior 8 years ... but has been incessant on it this year as if he's lived the conflict his whole life and as if it's immensely important to him as if his life depended on it and with more knowledge of the points of the conflict than just about anyone else here short of myself

given the fact that the memcop account is pushing all the known/identified Kremlin daily talking points and patting the back of others who are as well

given the fact the memcop account is acting far far more like Russian behavior than typical American behavior and especially someone with long US mil history

given the fact the memcop account has ardently attacked every member who is against Putin's war; while repeatedly patting on the back known and suspected Kremlin shill accounts

I want your identity verified by the admin.

Then we go from there.
Lol

Grandeur

PS I haven't been wrong yet. I don't speak in certainties and if I do, I'll happily admit so.

You're so sassy. Odd you can just talk however you'd like to someone you accuse of being a tyrant.

But Luke, seriously. Thank you for sharing your firsthand expertise as an expert in combat. I'm just a simple person looking to someone like you to help annihilate humanity over a fruitless war that could have been negotiated. Im sure you've been to war college multiple times. I'm sure your multiple tours have influenced your worldview because every single combat veteran that's stopped by the thread has echoed my sentiment but I suppose we just don't have as many stars on our CIBs and devices on our m/dsm's for leading troops at all levels of combat as you. You've got it all figured out. I'll do better to work on my group think. I'll do my best to not think about the human suffering that goes along with it.

Now will you please let me know what your war dead estimates are? We need to be on record here that it's worth it and the absolute truth is being available for us to make an informed decision. I'm pretty firm on 15k to 150-200k. Tell me what I need to think so I'm not a gremlin.

Maybe. I don't think it's the kindness angle either, not one bit. It may be something as simple geopolitics and trade leveraged by a partner.

The entire thing is illogical in some areas but underestimating is deadly foolish on the otherhand. Hopefully this is over and they've shaped what it is they aim to take and don't advance.

Are you serious? Even with civilians and wounded there are no such losses.
even the russian Ministry of Defense, which always lies, talks about a figure of 50-60k
some russian military correspondents and analytics admit that the russians have at least 2.5 times more casualties among the military.

I think you overestimate Russian intelligence by about the same amount

I don't underestimate. It's kept me alive. Pragmatism and common sense tend to shake out most of the time. Less opinion more data. NASA clearly shows the impacts of russian artillery by the tens of millions on Ukrainian positions. An occupied line from Ukrainian forces with a good amount of ready reserves sent forward on a just stalled/stalling offensive of 40k or so is about that number. Russia is starting to bomb those positions now.

As far as the numbers there's no way you'd know. You'd be limited if you are indeed there. I'm open to waiting on the facts of bucha though i am not convinced. I've seen the funeral services of children who the Russians accuse Ukrainians of shelling (schoolhouse) and many service members burial accounts of Izyum some time ago. Russians do that in many places with Ukrainian war dead and document it since the accusations from bucha.

To be an enemy of America is dangerous, but to be its friend is fatal.

If you want to know why Putin came back and cracked down, why he banned the NGOs and decided he would stand against us, you need only watch this video.

It is said that Putin watched Gaddafi's death video over and over, grief stricken. He knew he would have to stand alone. He knew he could never trust us.

The West is evil and ruthless. The way we have treated the world is immoral, and there will be a reckoning. Whether it is Putin or Xi or someone else, there will be a reckoning for our crimes. We will all answer for what we have done someday. John Bolton once said "I'd rather fight them over there than fight them over here." But our injustice over there can and will eventually create problems over here, directly or indirectly. There will be a reckoning.

Note how those men laughed when he said they were next. They didn't believe the US would betray them. But we betray everyone. We have no honor. Our nation's foreign policy is run by the corrupt and wicked. And our people are too docile and narcissistic to care what we have wrought upon this world. They are too blind to see the coming horrors.

We once had a man with a grand vision for the future of this planet. And he was revered by all the leaders of this world for it. That man was John F Kennedy in his final year. He resisted his advisors and did what was best for humanity. He was the most magnanimous leader we ever had. And they murdered him for it.

We can have this America again if we have the will to dethrone the foreign policy establishment.

The Ukrainian Embassy in Romania has accused the EU country's former foreign minister, Andrei Marga, of undermining the “basic principles of international law,” after he claimed that the borders of modern Ukraine are “unnatural,” and suggested that Kiev should cede parts of its territory to neighboring states.

The embassy voiced its “regret” that a former top official of a “democratic European state” would make a statement that is not just “unacceptable under any circumstances,” but also represents a “particularly blatant deviation at a time when Ukraine heroically defends its independence and the security of Europe.”

The former Romanian diplomat made the controversial remark earlier on Saturday at the Alba Transylvania book fair, where he presented his new book ‘The Fate of Democracy’ and suggested that leading world powers should come together and agree on a new “security structure” in Europe and worldwide.

“We are in a very special situation here, and I take this with all responsibility, Ukraine exists in unnatural borders. It should cede Transcarpathia to Hungary, Galicia to Poland, Bukovina to Romania, Donbass and Crimea to Russia. These are the territories of other countries,” he said, listing the regions that were incorporated into then-Soviet Ukraine by the Communists, but which he thinks should be relinquished.

There are only three types who repeat Putin's rodent propaganda in western forums, social media, youtube vid comments, news article comments, etc -

- Putin's propaganda army employees, most of whom post from Russia but pretend to be from their target countries; an online propaganda/psych warfare army which he has built a massive one of since 2000

- mass murder sociopath tyrant loving sociopaths who admire a mass murdering sociopath tyrant like Putin and who voluntarily and knowingly repeat his lies; these are generally people who are amoral and immoral and seek evil instead of goodness and have no honesty in their lives

- naive useful idiot fools who are unaware of and have succumbed to the constant psychological warfare of 22 years of Putin's online army

No it is not simply a valid alternative point of view for anyone in the West to support what's Putin's doing. It's simply one of the three above.

Idk bruh, I'd say a lot of the information you're consuming is via Ukranian bots....

"A new study from the University of Adelaide in Australia shows that while 90% of Twitter accounts are "pro-Ukraine", 60-80% of Twitter accounts posting about the Russian-Ukrainian war are bots.

The researchers analyzed over 5.2 million tweets posted under hashtags such as "StandWithUkraine" or "StandWithPutin." The study calls social media a "critical tool in information warfare."

.... of 5.2 million tweets on the social media network from February 23 to March 8, between 60 to 80% were shared by fake accounts. What’s more, 90% of those posts were pro-Ukraine.

... The accounts identified were overwhelmingly English language, leading the researchers to conclude these fake users sought to “drive more disruption in English-speaking countries” and “influence a variety of user groups.”"

A better example than Gaddafi's would be those Ukrainians who agreed to the Budapest memorandum for territorial integrity security assurances in exchange for moving nuclear warheads from their nation to Russia.

Lol like the US would even honor the spirit of that.

Makes me feel like chit honestly.

I mean fuk- we could’ve at least demanded legit sanctions instead of counterproductive ones that unnecessarily hurt everybody else in the world - and temporarily aided Putin.

Could have put the brakes on starting last March, and bleed Russia dry be the end of summer easy.

Cut nordstream day 1

But we didn’t even try to get Germany to play ball the right way, so here we are with this bullchit.

And we kind of threw the whole thing out the window in 2014, so we should have just ignored it I guess.

Germany had made it in evitable though with the last three chancellors.

What was dumb was there were actually no binding guarantees in the Budapest memorandum.

We could have just stayed out of Ukraine. There would have been peace and things would have liberalized slowly.

The Russian troll army is a legit reality.

I also doubt there any on this forum now - but probably so 8 yeas ago. Unless one is the og’s are still around and doing voluntarily here.

Ukraine was one of the centerpieces of rouge arms dealers acquiring formal Soviet munitions, and selling them around the world.

The first thing we tried to do was influence Ukraine to state part of Russia-

I.e George H Bush’s much criticized “ Chicken Kiev” speech were he cautioned against suicidal nationalism.

It was absolutely in US national security interest to consolidate the former USSR nuclear warheads under a single command

I understand getting Ukraine to give up nukes. I don't understand why we got involved in 2013 with the coup. I mean, I do understand, but I think it was a bad decision.

In my view, Ukraine had no real play but to give up nukes. Though Mearsheimer and others have argued isolation + nukes is better than no nukes. And I guess he was basically right because if Ukraine had nukes today, they'd never have been attacked.

And the memorandum should have really been an actual treaty with obligations.

It was horrid- we completely botched everything involving Ukraine and Russia from 2010-2014

Quite honestly the only thing we needed to do was not make Hillary Secretary of State lol.

We’ve screwed this up even worse.

The writing was on the wall….
Former German Chancellor Schröder nominated for Gazprom board

And after almost 2 decades of Merkel's BS there was no way to sanction out of a pile of dead bodies.

Yea Russia’s economy is going to suck in the long run- after how many unnecessary dead bodies?

And now we fuk the world economy even more than it was also.

Our choice was direct military intervention or nothing.

We sold our soul as far as holding up to the spirit of the agreement in 2014 so I guess it doesn’t matter now.

We choose the third unethical evil option instead.
