If the Yankees want to spend they should make a run at Rodon as priority #1

Braves top priority ought to be Nimmo unless they think they can pull off some trade magic for an outfielder, but they're running thin in the farm as is because everyone has graduated to the majors so I'd prefer they didn't.

My actual prediction, Braves sign Adam Frazier at SS and bring back Adam Duvall for the outfield lmao
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

I mean its just painfully obvious year after year after year that pitching wins........have starting pitching, you can be an 85 win team, get in and run the table. Its all about arms.

I don't think you want to do that lol.

Don't get me wrong he's a great pitcher but when does it drop out on him? He's 35 and a long track record of being unhealthy. If you get him on like a 2 year deal awesome but I seriously doubt you'll get him on a 2 year deal.

Edit:

Want to clarify, he'll be 35 during next season. This was his age 34 season.

Short deal yeah.....probably wont happen, and yeah he's almost guaranteed to miss time with some injury. But his stuff hasn't faded at all....just gotta keep him healthy

I do think the Astros will win. Honestly they may have won regardless of the break.

The thing about the Phillies is they’ve never sustained being hot for very long. A full month is a long time. They were always going to turn back into a pumpkin question was would it be before they finished their run or not.

We’ll see. I will find it hilarious if the Astros dropped another WS to a red hot East team lol. First the Nats then the Braves…. then the Phillies????? The jokes practically write themselves.

I almost want to say the Phillies are the favorites even though they shouldn’t be.

The baseball gods have just anointed them as this being their year. Down 5-0 to Verlander and you still win.

Good luck Astros. You’re probably gonna need it because the week off did not seem to eliminate the Philly magic.

Phillies just have "it" this year. Down 0-5 to Verlander and to come right back. They're definitely feeling themselves.

When Nick Castellanos is making game saving defensive plays against you, you know you’re fukked.

That was a hell of a game 1.

The Astros are feeling deja vu right about now too lol

Tonight is a must win for them, and with Wheeler on the mound that's gonna be tough, but they can't go down 0-2 and go back to Philly or it's over.

I honestly didn't watch it but this does not surprise me. In addition to doing all the right things the ball literally is just bouncing their way. The Braves were gonna lose to them anyway but some of the things they had happen in that series I was just like holy sh*t we have no chance.

my gut still tells me astros bullpen will keep them down

phillies didn't score chit off their bullpen until luis garcia. astros also put up 5 and got complacent

verlander is not the verlander who pumps up to 102 in jams anymore

i do think there may be a question of the people before their bullpen for the astros

they scored 5 off of verlander. and then most of astros bullpen shut them down. luis garcia, mostly a starter, gave up a shallow shot to realmuto. which was probably only a home run there and yankee stadium

but i agree phillies are locked in. castellanos is a gay azz **** that was chit for me in another league but the slider he hit off verlander was ridiculous.. chits totally going their way

i just think astros prob wont throw out luis garcia late anymore. and will only go elite from now on

There's no way the Phillies bullpen can keep them afloat the rest of this series. With Syndergaard going tonight bullpen might need to keep the Astros down for 6 innings. They just can't keep this up. Astros depth has the advantage here...but this Philly run is super surprising.
I live in Houston and want nothing more than them to lose this series....the Orange and blue is just suffocating me daily here.

I keep waiting for the Phillies bullpen to ruin things for them but it hasn't happened

Imagine refusing to start the WS early when everyone was ready because it was SOOOO important to keep the schedule they planned in advance then have to shift the entire homestand for the Phillies because of rain.

I'm so glad MLB has this sh*t come back around on them and exposes the hypocrisy of their decisions. This is on par with choosing to take the AS game out of Atlanta, then being forced to watch Atlanta host the WS last year. It's best that MLB doesn't get away with these dumbass decisions. I hope they backfire every single time.

Verlander has looked pretty terrible this postseason though in fairness. Tonight is hardly a slam dunk for Houston.

And with Wheeler going Game 6 I could honestly make a case that tonight is closer to a must win for Houston than it is Philly.

Verlander has been terrible his whole post season career.

Just saying I'd much rather have Verlander on the mound vs Syndergaard.
