-blue haired Karen labeling you a baby killer if you want to have a bbq in your back yard

-antifa soyboys slashing your tires if you drive a gas powered car

-soyboys abandoning soy for bugs now (srs) (bug boys doesn’t have the same ring to it)

Climate has changed and will continue to change for all eternity. People adapt, new opportunities are created along the way. Were the same ****gits screaming about climate crisis the same ones complaining about the glaciers melting away from what is now present day NYC or Chicago after the last ice age? Godless ****gits

How in any way do people not see this as yet another government overreach and attaempt for left-wing fascists to tax people and destroy their competition in the fossil fuel industry

Yes, no one believes COVID a threat anymore, nor Monkeypox.

Also, people have stopped believing Ukraine is the victim.

On to the next crisis.

It's literally just an easy excuse to weaken western nations, they never criticize anyone else that would be contributing more to it. It's been going on for decades now though so idk if I'd call it 'the next covid'

Imagine being so cucked by oil companies that you act like climate change is a nonissue even when the evidence is overwhelming and has been corroborated by multiple independent parties all over the world. Even Vladimir Putin, who speaks for a nation whose entire economy relies on fossil fuels, has pledged zero carbon emissions by 2060 and has warned about the danger of climate change. At this point, you're straight up delusional.

I agree that humans are making a non-zero impact on the climate but the reality is that the Earth goes through climate cycles on its own. We are now just exiting from an ice age towards a hot age and eventually it will go back. There have been several periods in the Earth's history where the ice caps have completely melted. It's normal.

Yep. Just claim to be “experts” on something and form a commission to study the problem. You can’t argue with “experts” and judges side with said experts. Oldest trick in the book.

Of course. They are going to have to go all out soon enough to hide the financial crisis coming up. This will be part of it. Some sort of energy crisis mixed with climate change will a big thing.

I'm installing a wood burning stove in the house I buy as one of the first things I do unless it already has one.

Probably because they haven't seen the arguments against humans being able to affect climate via CO2 and/or they haven't figured out that the only way we get to "net zero" in less than 10 years is for a lot of people to die and/or move to a much lower standard of living.

Or we have been in a brief warming period and are heading back towards an ice age. Either way I don't think we should experiment with geoengineering on our only planet. Maybe if we had a spare or two.

The earth has had several periods with a full-on ice age and periods where the ice caps have completely melted. I think the earth will be just fine no matter how it goes. Maybe not us, but the earth will bounce back.

Yes, expect Climate lockdowns to reduce our carbon footprint.

Also expect Internal Combustion Engines to be completely outlawed by around 2035. All cars must be electric, which means electric stations can be centrally controlled and shut down whenever the political elites want.

In the coming years, an old, well-maintained Toyota Camry with an ICE engine will be a valuable asset.

It's not a myth but it happens naturally. It's not human made.

Most extinction events throughout the history of the planet were caused by climate change. Either the planet getting too hot or too cold.

Stressing about it is not gonna change the future.

If the whole planet went Zero Carbon now , whatever is gonna happen will happen, these things play out over decades and hundreds of years.

The Earth has had 3 x the CO2 in the past than it does now and been much hotter and much colder.....

No. It is not normal. What we are seeing is accelerated warming due to human activity.

Climate change has been a cult since at least the 1970s

Bunch of irrelevant scientists that rely on finding alarmist results to get funding are hardly going to turn around and say everything is good now are they

Your argument would require thousands of people to be in on a conspiracy. This would include grad students who make like 20k a year. Meanwhile, you seem to want to trust the word of oil company execs over the empirical data collected and presented by scientists from all over the world, including from independent observation projects.

I think the bigger problem is if you want funding for your research you need to be going with the agenda otherwise you don't get the funding. If you're not going with the agenda you don't get the money and if your able to do some research and it goes against the agenda it gets buried, then people like wincel get brainwashed and help ruin the world en masse.

You get funding to research specific things and test specific hypotheses. Showing something isn't happening is an acceptable and encouraged outcome, and multiple studies have corrected poor estimates and inaccurate observations from older models. The narrative that research projects in climate change are designed and funded from the ground up to somehow systematically observe a "desired" outcome is patently false. You are, again, buying into the notion that every atmospheric chemist and physicist is in on some giant conspiracy.

The reason almost no one in the scientific community takes climate change denial seriously is that it has been very exhaustively demonstrated. At this point, it is like arguing that DNA isn't the genetic information or that proteins don't have catalytic abilities. You're effectively denying what has been known to atmospheric physicists for decades.

Lastly, I happen to know people in this field. While I can't speak to the quality of their research directly, I can and do personally vouch for their integrity. There is no financial or social pressure for them to mislead the world with their work. On the other hand, the financial pressure by oil companies to create doubt was enormous. It seems their campaign has paid off since many in this country do not accept basic results. It's perplexing that Russians largely accept this science while many Americans do not.
