Losing Kherson completely destroyed their weak minds. The humiliation was too much for them...

Cost effectiveness of the weaponry. The Western weapons are so expensive an easy way to win this war is to overwhelm them with cheaper munitions from lower cost countries.

As I said numerous times war economy and attrition will win this war.

Getting munitions from Iran and North Korea achieves both of these objectives.

This is great news. Patriot missile systems to Ukraine will be ineffective because it won;t be able to integrate into their AD systems and the US can';t produce rockets for them.

However it means that Iran will shortly be recieving S-400 missile systems, which would mean Iran has a better AD system than even the US.

Are you sure about that. If we didn't have all the Ukranian supporting morons in here we could actually have a decent discussion around the conflict. Instead it's all chit posting and name calling.

The Shahed is operationally more succesful then the F-22 and F-35 combined.

They have destroyed a huge number of targets and neutered Ukranian AD.

Anyone else starting to see a shift in the underlying themes that certain influencers are putting out?

I remember at the start of the SMO, the typical progressive historian Youtuber types couldn't help but compare the SMO to the Soviet/Finland war, painting a purely pro-Ukraine narrative.

One particular influencer then spent months indulging in absolute garbage tier, sub-par content (take a guess why that might be).
Only just now he has returned to core, original-esk content and now decides to paint the successes of Soviet weapons manufacturing during WW2, effectively mirroring and praising Russia's strategy, war effort and successes today.

Russian and Ukrainian resources with their military observers, more or less not carrying propaganda to the masses in one direction or the other, compare this war more to the Russo-Japanese war, taking into account some battles from there.

You can't possibly upset me. I am very happy with the success fo the Shahed.

The Shahed and Lancet combination have truly made a formidable team.

Soon we will see some ballistic missiles enter the conflict and you can tell me how useless they are too.

This equipment will be reciprocated by advanced defense systems that can be used to deter American forces.

The shaheds were really useful for the first 2-3 weeks after they were delivered to hit our infrastructure, later they all started to be shot down completely. old Zu-23-2 anti-aircraft system from 1955 does a great job against them, shooting down about 70%. The other 30% is shot down by air defense systems already on the approach to cities and facilities. Maybe now they are somehow used on the battlefield to hit equipment and infantry and have success, I have no information about that.

Ballistic missiles would indeed be a threat, as they are very difficult to shoot down.

You can be as proud of your country as you want, but when the same Shahed consists of 90% imported and smuggled parts (most from the USA), it is ridiculous to even talk about it.

With all due respect i don't believe you. If these weapons are as ineffective as you claim the Russians wouldn't be ordering more and in such large numbers.

Engineering is about solving problems using technology. Nobody says you have to manufacture very part yourself or the equipment has to cost $120M dollars and sit in a hanger its whole useful life.

The beauty of the Shahed is that it is so cost effective meaning it can be used with maximum effectiveness.

Iran has truly democratised Airpower. I am sure they will have a full order book for the foreseeable future.

They're only buying your iranian toy weapons because they can't buy from any serious country and are unable to make enough weapons.

I am sorry to inform you my simple friend, but very few nations have the drone arsenal that Iran now commands. Even among your precious 'serious countries'.

While 'serious countries' spent their miltiary budgets purchasing the F-35 pig, Iran developed it's own domestic technologies. As it turns out they anticipated one of the key trends in future warfare. The low cost drone, especially loitering and suicide drones have become the keys to victory in modern warfare.

Iran has one of the most advanced and extensive arsenals of this type of weapon.

Interestingly, Russia will likely reciprocate this technology with the S-400 and the SU-35; which in combination with an extensive drone army will put Iran right at the top of the military equipment tech tree.

The White House says Iran is about to transfer ballistic missiles to Russia.

"I have evidence that indicates a deal has been struck for ballistic missiles from Iran to Russia," said John Kirby, strategic communications coordinator at the National Security Council.
Yes, even if it did. as if that's a bad thing. Half of the "civilized world" supplies Ukraine with all sorts of weapons and is not troubled by any moral worries. And here, you see, they have evidence to point to. So?

Earlier, The Washington Post wrote that Iran was going to supply Russia with several hundred short-range ballistic missiles, Fateh-110 and Zol***har.

Fateh-110 (according to unclassified sources).
Maximum range: 300 km Mass: 3320 kg Warhead weight: 448 kg Length: 8.8 m Diameter: 61 cm
firing on two US targets in Iraq: the Ain al-Asad Air Base in western Iraq and an airfield in Erbil Province. The strikes were in response to the assassination in Baghdad of al-Quds Special Forces commander General Qassem Sulaimani.

Zol***har
Compared to the Fateh-110, the Zol***har increased in diameter from 61 to 68 cm, in length from 8.8 m to 10.3 m, and in mass from 3,320 to 4,620 kg. The weight of the warhead also increased, from 448 kg to 579 kg

Im talking about ballistic missiles, not the advanced tech drones bro. Russia has production of at least several models of ballistic missiles, why do they need to import from iran and north korea? Why do they want inferior missiles? To save theirs? Wouldnt that logically imply that they do actually have some sort of perceived cap on supply?

Again, im not claiming russia is low on missiles and im sure they are more than capable of production, but it just seems like an odd decision.

The New York Times’ Embedded Reporter Revealed Three Inconvenient Truths About Bakhmut

First, Kiev lacks experienced forces for conducting surveillance operations and therefore outsources them to foreigners. Second, the locals are scared of those Western mercenaries. And finally, these same foreign fighters are once again illegally militarizing residential areas, with there being concern that they’re also using those aforesaid locals as human shields.

On the subject of patriot missile wunderwaffe:

https://smoothiex12.blogspot.com/202...-patriots.html
As I am on record--Patriot PAC3 is not made for fighting real enemies, which have stand off weapons, not to speak about supersonic and hypersonic weapons. Nor, for that matter, this system is capable to handle a salvo of Iskanders, so, as usual, it is all about PR. Not to mention the fact of inability to build real integrated AD system (emphasis on "system"). There are reasons for PR--situation in Bakhmut is dire for VSU and its NATO handlers and desperate times call for desperate measures. Bakhmut is crucial not just for PR reasons , but because it is an extremely important transportation node for the whole Donetsk operational direction. This is Operational Art 101.

So, the only benefit here is for the Raytheon and Lockheed to obtain some REAL war data and maybe (maybe) incorporate some lessons learned, which is a whole other can of worms when speaking about learning curve of the US weapon systems designers and manufacturers, in order to improve on what already sustained serious reputational damage due to its constant failures to perform against even backward opponent. So, another day--another NATO wunderwaffe for former Ukraine. All reminiscent of using a band-aid on a blown up body. Here is Brian Berletic making the case precisely on this issue.

If it costs Russia 200k to build a missile and Iran 50k to build a missile (even if it's a bit worse)

They can send four Iranian missiles for the same cost of one Russian missile.

If it costs the Americans 500k to procude a missile; the Russians have a 10:1 cost advantage using Iranian missiles.

This is how wars are won.

Someone tell him the F-35 is the most lethal air warfare quarterback ever built.... or don't. Don't tell him a single US Navy DDG could annihilate Iran's entire production capacity in 60 minutes flight either....
