This has to be one of the worst generations to live through

yes, the standard of living has never been so high on an average for society, but other than that society is complete ****. just so much **** everywhere. everything is manufactured, processed, fake, loneliness at all time high, standards of society are completely misaligned, no values, everyone is trying to burn each other to get ahead, etc. add to the list. mostly everything is handed to us and we don't have to work for stuff like they used to.

imagine being able to live during the viking times where you were raised tough af, learned how to survive, hunt for your food, help build a town, closer community, no trash social media.

It's the best and worst times. We have so much we can do, internet, all of the comforts on demand with no work involved, and a lot of our jobs are seemingly pointless and require zero physical work.

However, it kind of makes things less fulfilling and there are a lot of strings attached for these comforts which brings stress.

Mix that with the insane cultural chaos and you get the weirdest timeline ever and a feeling of WTF.

Look for opportunities to volunteer for food drives, kitchens, and habitat for humanity. Toy drives are common this time of year, go donate. There's plenty of options to make the world better, starting locally.

I've always been a person to give to the community and the people around me and constantly be doing things and working hard but i just don't see this anymore. Everyone is so closed off and doesn't wanna do anything anymore. Phones and social media have isolated us. It keeps getting worse every day at this point but like i mentioned it just seems like nobody wants to do much. It's weird because like 11 years ago i wouldn't even see anyone with a phone everyone was outside 8 hours per day working on something or doing something. This being inside and being on social media stuff all day wasn't really a thing.

I was watching highlights of old world cups from the 60s 70s and 80s
Everyone seemed so authentic
I think social media has fckd up everyone
No one back then cared how they looked on social media
People just interacted authentically no one was caring about posting their food or worrying about using him/her

Everyone is just so narcissistic now

What happened to treating others how you wanted to be treated ?

There's plenty of good communities out there in the smaller towns, I'd expect this to be true for the United States as well. City life kinda sucks unless you're a Chad bachelor in your early 20s.

I wouldn't say the worst, but one that has it's own unique issues.

The ease of access to information along with media have been a blessing and a curse.

Primarily in the US work/grind culture keeps the masses distracted from politicians and corporations milking us for their own wealth.

Many here complain about the current state of things while they unconsciously contribute and support what's keeping us this way.

Oldcels will blame Gen Z, while ignoring the fact that the Boomer generation raised the neglected Gen X which in turn lead to the current state of Gen Z.

The tail end of Gen Z and their children will be the generation that will bring about changes. We'll see if that's good or bad.

In small US towns? I'd imagine there's quite a few good places there. I travelled around the Utah/Idaho area before and the people there seemed great and super friendly in general.

rural sometimes means those who could not make it anywhere and ended up there.
It can also mean nantucket or somewhere in hudson valley to live somewhere nicer than the city

Life is not about generations, it's about what you do for the people you love and yourself.

So you play the cards you are dealt in any generation, there's no exception.

Good luck.

"This has to be one of the worst generations to live through"

What missfits across time and generations says

I bet you in the second century after Christ: "This has to be one of the worst generations to live through" I wish I lived at time of PAX Romania

I bet you in 1500s: "This has to be one of the worst generations to live through" I wish I lived as a knight

I bet you in 1900s: "This has to be one of the worst generations to live through" I wish I lived in the Renaissance

I bet you currently: "This has to be one of the worst generations to live through" I wish I lived as a Viking and that I were not an incel

every generation will have it's ups and downs, but more so I am looking at it through time periods. this time period is just trash. no substance to anything. easy drugs, easy addictions, fakeness in everything. society is destroyed as a whole.

Closest thing I've seen to a community since grandparents/mother passed has been my riding community. Most everyone looks out for each other and my own group is pretty good about taking care of one-another, but still, you can count on one hand the amount of people that would TRULY go out of their way for you if you needed it.

I've always given more than I've gotten and that chit is getting tiring these days.

Also doesn't help men everywhere too pussy-whipped to tell their girls no.

I see it all day, try and make plans with people and there's always some fukkin excuse. No wonder dudes are so lonely and miserable.
