I don't get the logic of going the unemployed route, however more women are getting degrees than men are. Men are also more likely to drop out of college. More women are likely to be promoted in my experience as well. I forget the exact statistic, but when comparing apples to apples regarding jobs, young women are paid more than young men, which makes sense since they are more educated.

The odds are becoming more stacked against men than ever before. That's a fact. And it's specifically white men. It's also another scenario of survival of the fittest, if it weren't for the diversity hire component, which leaves out white men from being hired and promoted, it's even incentivized by the federal govt. It's also incentivized by the federal govt for businesses to do more business with women and minority owned businesses. However, most people don't have what it takes to work smart/hard to reach success. And if you're a white man, good luck getting ahead in corporate, unless the entire c-suite and most of management is white males.

The logic of the unemployed route is very simple and obvious. Most men dont inherently give a fuk. They are motivated by what they can get by doing things. The biggest motivation is sex, girlfriend/wife, family.

That motivation is not even realistic with large swathes of men anymore. If you read the article, they call it 'social status' but what does that really mean? It means they arent getting laid with these jobs or they cant afford families.

If you cant get what you want by working, the obvious question is why are you working?

This is a big problem our society is going to face going forward. You cannot make the basic goals of the common man unattainable and still expect him to go to work everyday.

It's not just that. Many people are dropping out because they are treated like crap and there's just a lack incentive to work in such conditions. There has to be some form of incentives or people are not gonna work.

Working your butt off and getting treated like chit is not an incentive to keep working

I agree though lots of stuff can be causing health issues but so can being overworked and treated like chit. Social media and obesity are without a doubt causing health issues.

Yeah, it seems odd they are going unemployed. It seems a good amount are at least going for certificates and degrees to get better work. I guess they live with their family and can afford it. I am going back to school but I still work and never thought of not working.

I think the lack of status is a large component. Chit upbringing with no morals and values can't be helping matters. No resilience. No drive. I faced the same status scrutiny by women in my early working days. And I did blame the women, because I always had money and financially savy, but no status. I then understood I'd have to work pretty hard to get that, which I did. Against all odds, I made it. Apparently only 10% of college dropouts end up graduating later, which is me.

We're just in a generation of weak men, feminism is stronger than ever, which gives less opportunities for men, add in the diversity chit, and I can kinda see why so many have given up. Feminism is stronger now than when I started working. I can't imagine having so many odds against me starting out. I try to have "some" empathy. I feel sorry for a lot of people in this generation. They're fuked from the start, chit upbringing, no education...etc etc. The haves and have not gap just keeps growing. And that's sad.

I know so many tradies that get these hot as phuck lower economic class chicks. Sometimes I get a little jelly actually. I have no problem picking up attractive middle to upper middle class bishes but if I try to slump and go after lower income bracket women even with the same game plan or try normalizing with them it has always been slim success. At the end I am always like wtf it makes no sense, I don't try it any more I just stay in my lane. It never made any real sense though. Trailer park hotties are out there but they stick to their park people. Anyone else have similar or different experiences in this?

many are trying to get better jobs, but the point is a lot of jobs arent even worth it anymore. not everyone can get those better those jobs. The ones that dont make it are just going to rot instead.
