I doubt ill get serious answers from incels but **** it

So i did bad things growing up decades ago, I made a choice to be a better person and never did them again,

What if I'm asked stuff during the polygraph test and I fail ? Will I be arrested? Will they dig deeper to try to catch me for **** I did long ago ?
Should I even try ?

They can't convict with the poly test. It's not reliable. DNA aint even that reliable past a certain time period.

I heard other departments use voice stress analysis lol that's even less reliable than polygraph

polygraphs are mainly an intimidation tactic but mainly they are used as a way to get you to admit/disclose information that you previously didn't mention or put down on the pre polygraph questionnaire you fill out prior to taking it

The results are interpreted by a human, who you will be interacting with.

After you take and pass the entrance exam, and then pass the physical fitness tests, you will be given an extremely extensive questionnaire to fill out.

After they receive it back, they'll do a background check to see if what you've stated matches up with what they find.

They will go talk to the people that you've listed, but usually only as a means to find people you haven't listed, so they can find out the real dirt on you.

The next step is an interview (interrogation) by a detective to feel you out or rule you out as a candidate.

If you make it passed that, then you'll get an interview w/ the chief, and if that goes well, only then will they bother with the polygraph.

You could always go work for a precinct constable as a deputy instead, tho, where all you need is a friend of a friend to recommend you and for you to have graduated from a police academy.

Probably depends on how much competition there is for the position. I mean if they are trying to fill 50 positions and only have 37 recruits, I doubt two phuks will be given

This, lmao. Bruh these polygraph tests are purely based on baseline body stats and how your body reacts to questions. Since you already have it in your head you will fail the polygraph, your body is going to freak out on any question close to anything related. You do realize the questions themselves mean fuk all, and it’s how your body reacts to said questions?

I’ve taken 3 and passed all easily. Get your heart beat up to like 100-110 and make it go to this on any question or just keep it high period.

I'm not a police officer, but I have a few buddies who are/were. I've been told that they don't care what you admit to (as long as it's not stuff that disqualifies you like being a drug trafficker, murderer, etc lol), but that they're just trying to see if you're a liar or a truth teller. Srs.

I applied to SDPD (San Diego) yrs & yrs ago. Did a physical test, background check, written test, & questioned about past. Was honest about drug use. Tried a couple things but nothing lasted more than a few months, & nothing hard when in my late teens. Hundreds of people were applying. I never got called in a third time.

Life took a different path & I'm very grateful for it. What police have had to endure the last few yrs with BLM & Covid alone, I do not think I could’ve handled it.
