GOP LOL...

Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy failed to secure enough support Tuesday for his bid to become House speaker during the chamber’s first round of voting, the first time in a century that the majority party failed to coalesce behind a speaker and forced more than one round of voting.

Whether he wins or not is irrelevant, McCarthy and Ryan have been down since at least 2006.

This whole battle seems to be a manipulation tactic.

To what immediate end, I'm not sure.

Former House Speaker Paul Ryan says there's no one 'better suited' to lead House Republicans than Kevin McCarthy: 'He's been good for conservatives'
"It's an impressive legacy," Ryan said of Pelosi's stint leading the House as speaker from 2007 to 2011 and 2019 to the present, and her time in Congress overall.

"Obviously, she and I usually disagree on things. But first woman speaker ... a career to be proud of," he said.

"And frankly, I think about her husband Paul a lot these days. I feel so awful about what happened to them," Ryan added, referencing the attack on the speaker's husband at their San Francisco home by a intruder.

Why would a politician want additional power?

There’s a Democratic Senate and President. It’s mostly a symbolic position at the moment. It’s not like the House Republicans are going to be passing laws. At best, you get to set up committees.

Good. Neocon scum.

Glad to see we have some people in the party who aren't going to run their mouth and then just vote with all of the other establishment cucks at the end of the day, or vote against when it won't change anything (ie AOC and the other fake activists).

Shapiro will make good points regularly, but he is still a blind shill at the end of the day. This guy should have stepped down knowing that he didn't have the votes (maybe he was so arrogant he thought everyone would get in line when push came to shove), he generated the "clown show".

GOP losers need to just support Biggs. He seems worth half a damn, at least. Voted against all of the COVID garbage that caused the crazy inflation, and is tough on immigration from what I see.

It won't happen of course, because the house is chock full of "moderate" McCarthy-lite cucks

You are saying the House speakership has no value when the Senate and President are from the opposing party?

Not only that, they passed $1.7T for Biden and against the will of the American public.

The new House won't have a say until after September 30.

It's almost like you don't have representation.
