Pretty common index fund type investment for people 5+ or more years until retirement to have.

So on December 27th 2021 the S&P 500 closed $4766.18
Today it closed $3974.34

Down 16.6137% from December 2021

If you 500k of your retirement in it then, it’s now worth $416,931.38

-$83,068.62

Yes- it’s 2023 already, and we are that far behind a 2021 number…

Now….

One of the key components - goal - to your investments/retirement is to beat inflation.

If you compare it with inflation - for the same 500k to have equivalent buying power today, it would need to be $536,527.72

So you are currently $119,641.34 Biden, I mean behind.

So now non-American leftist cucks want to pretend everything that happens under a Dem admin has nothing to do with a previous Repub admin.

You think youre the first person to try to manipulate information to push your own (weird) agenda? Lmao, expected argument from a middle school debate.

Off the top of my head

You had the republican revolution in 1994 when the GOP took the house after 50 years, followed by six years of excellent growth.

We did great 94-2000 , after taking over the Tip O’Neill recession.

The Dems starting creeping seats in then we had a downturn in 2000-2002

The …..

2006 the Democrats won the house back

January 2007- January 2011 - wow that was bad

Republicans got house back January 2011 and starting fixing it

Then Dems room it back and here we are

How long will it take the 1 month old now R’s to fix it? Idk

Biden/pelosi’s March 2021 Covid bill greatly exacerbated a spiral worldwide inflation.

We learned lessons from the first 2020 go, and it was an each option of wut do - and we did everything wrong

Seems kind of a stretch. The Democratic administrations for the past 100 years are not in charge in this moment, Joe Biden is. He doesn't inherit their good will or success simply by being in the same party. One liberals often argue "shifted and did a 180!" every time the Democrats did something horribly racist, so which way is it anyhow?

Have they been running things great or was that the Republicans doing it, or do we only give Democrats credit for good stuff and blame the "shifting party!" for the longest filibuster in history against the Republican-backed Civil Rights Act, or the Democrats behind Jim Crow were half-Democrat for the Economic stuff you're giving them credit for but the other evil racist Jim Crow half was Republican?

Or was Joe Biden himself a Republican when he backed the racist 1994 crime act but "sWiTCheD pArTIEs!!" both immediately before and after that, so he was only a racist Republican while denouncing racial jungles and making racist laws?
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Math for investing around Nancy Pelosi…..

If You Invested $1,000 In SPY Stock When Nancy Pelosi Was Speaker Of The House, Here's How Much You Made…..

On Jan. 4, 2007, a $1,000 investment could have purchased 7.04 shares of SPY. The investment would have been worth $898.30 when sold on Jan. 3, 2011.

The $898.30 investment could have bought 3.61 shares of SPY on Jan. 3, 2019. That investment would have been worth $1,395.01 when cashed out on Jan. 3, 2023.

The overall $1,000 investment would have been worth $1,395.01 when Pelosi stepped down as Speaker of the House, representing a return of 39.5% over an 8-year period. This translates to an average annual gain of 4.94% over the eight years Pelosi was Speaker of the House.

Investing in the S&P 500 in only the years Pelosi was the Speaker of the House could have missed out on several years that saw strong returns. The S&P 500 was up 29.6% in 2013, up 28.9% in 2019 and up 26.9% in 2021.

A $1,000 investment in the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust from the day Pelosi was elected Speaker until the time she stepped down in 2023 without taking the money out when she was not Speaker from 2011 to 2019 would have turned into $2,720.47.

This represents a gain of 172.0% and an average annual return of 10.75%.

I've read a few times recently that after a mid-term election since 1950 the S&P has averaged a 15% return. Never has their been a negative year after a midterm, since 1950s.

With Biden at the helm, i'm suspecting history will be made. We will see another negative year in the stock market.

I am FAR from a Biden supporter, but do better.

S&P 500 was 3841 when he took office, 3974 today. Increase of roughly half the rate of inflation.

You comparing it to the all time high (which was during his administration) is like Biden taking responsibility for the growth from 1/20/21 - 12/27/21 growth.

Presidents don't control the stock market, especially in the long term. Their dumbass policies (in conjunction with MANY other factors) may cause short-term gyrations, but we invest for decades, not for 15 months...

Alright.

While Trump was in power the S&P went up 63%.

Went to check - using the current bottom floor price at the time of this post (which is bellow the average price)

You would have $4.6 million if you purchased $500k worth at Trumps generous $99 initial sale each price.

Yeah, but when they go down, down, down, down, waaaaayyyyyyyyyyyy...... down - and stay there for a long time though. And then go down some more.. Yeah, some of us who actuallyhavesome would kinda like to avoid that.

Edit: But if you knew WTF you were talking about you would know that they go upanddown in a healthy economy.

Ergo your sad attempt at being snarky just makes you look kinda dumb bro.

It's certainly a risk. And some of us are buying while they're "cheap" and hoping for the best. But you're a fuking fool if you think anybody is happy about it.

Like I said, if you had any clue about WTF you were talking about you wouldn't be so snarky about it.
