Housing the homeless (those whom are willing to work-as God proclaimed), feeding the hungry, and welcoming the stranger ( those that contributed..when you read God's word) are all good aspects in the correct setting/context. But what OP fails to understand is that these things cannot be forced. It has to come from a change of character (from the heart)..it cannot be done by Governmental laws an forced upon the people. This is EXACTLY why Jesus did not come as a ruler (the first time), but instead to give His Spirit to dwell amongst people that we may live and be of the character of God..and not be under the forcible control of His rule in a Governmental setting. This is why the Israelites failed..their inability to keep the LAW. God understands that no man can keep the law, and no man wants to be under the oppression of it..which is exactly what OP pushes. Thinking as long as we FORCE people to "house the homeless, feed the hungry, welcome in the immigrant (not Biblically true) then society will be right..and this is exactly why Jesus came..to BREAK the law, and Give Himself so that man no longer lives under the oppression of the law, but freely in the Spirit of God.
