Yeah this is pretty nuts. Shocked that VCs are actually running on the bank.

To be clear, SVB is super legit and respected. This isn't some FTX crypto bullchit. They are a legit bank. Pretty nuts to see ppl make a run on them.

Tempted to take a gamble and buy with the assumption that the gov't will bail them out.

I’ve never heard of this bank before but their apparent involvement in the garbage SPACs during the pandemic would make me question any respect there.

SPACs and the people pushing them were maybe a notch or two less bad than NFTs and crypto

Yeah - SPACs have always been chit tier on wall street. 2020 / 2021 was a weird year where ppl decided SPACs were cool for some reason.

I def don't mean that SVB is JPM or anything, but they def are not FTX or some chit. They are a legit bank that was respected in the industry. Crazy to see a run being made on a legit bank.

Jury is out on this one.

Cannot tell if CEO is part of the juice tribe.

If part of the juice tribe, I'd buy a few hundred shares.

Not part of the tribe? No fooking way.

The only bank stock I mingle with is PNC. For a long time, it's always been reliable to stay above $145. Now it's at $137 ($134 in pre-market). All banks are getting hit hard

In for a bunch of focus put on disclosed or claimed short positions while most people don't appreciate that big short positions are likely part of a hedged strategy

Fun to imagine winning the lottery though for sure

You're gonna see these get targeted one by one. Once there's a call for a bank run these things can fall so easily right now.

So this means $250k is insured right off the bat, and then uninsured amounts above $250k would likely need to come from further liquidation of assets?

They'll get a bailout

The taxpayers will foot the bill

Imagine if you made a dumb decision at work and someone else bailed you out and paid for it

You'd never learn

This country is in serious financial trouble

Biden is the dumbest mfer to ever walk in Washington
