Over the past few weeks I've been in talks/negotiations with the power to be regarding the current reality of our forum - From what it was- to what it is now- and all the history here.

We have members that have been here for over 20 years, and many of us have been through life-changing events- as well many of us have matured into a different person.

Some of us under many different names...

I had a thought- and a proposition to the powers to be- Wouldn't it be nice if we knew who each other were? - including context to our entire history here.

Many people have changed in many was, and It would be nice to know "Who's Who finally?"

SO......


This thread will be the confession/Amnesty thread. In this thread, you can make a confession about your history, all of your alt accounts, and any other random thing you may wish to confess about. The powers to be are granting amnesty as long as you post the confession in this thread.

My alt account is NYPat


I made the NYPat account in December 2010 a little over a week after I made this account.

Part of the reason I made it was hoping my wife would use it, and part of the reason I made it was a constant urge to kind of have e an alternate me on the forum if I ever needed it. I've done the same thing all the way back to the AOL chatroom days, heck even all the way back to the CompuServe bulletin board days.

I thought NY in the name would be kind of fitting because I always thought of New York basically being the opposite of Georgia.

The NYPat account has evolved into a deep persona I have somewhat emotionally invested in. It's a deep different part of my reflection.

Honestly, I can't really explain my odd behavior- its a part of my I've always felt like I needed to do- all the way back to the beginning of the internet.

It's almost like I have a dissociative identity disorder, And I need to maintain both accounts to feel fulfilled in both parts of me.

Some may recall NYPat taking long breaks from here- and if you look it will also match with my breaks at times- even my self-imposed bans- this was due to unforeseen outside events in my life I needed to take care of.


When discussing the amnesty deal- It was understood I still could only keep 1 account at first- and honestly, I'm not sure which I will keep.

Surprisingly, he seems to actually be open to the idea of me keeping both, I used the dissociative identity disorder argument and pleaded that its a part of my that I still needed to fulfill- basically making reasonable accommodations for a mental disorder (I guess that's what it is)

I'm supposed to get my final answer Monday, and if I have to give up one, I'll decide then.




So - What is your confession? Who are our alts? what is your previous accounts?

Feel free to once and for all take advantage of an amnesty.

I don't know what to tell you man- to be honest, and I'm trying to be totally honest in the confessions thread- as it is a confession- I think I've been jealous of you.

People started looking at you as the central "reasonable" conservative here- and that was always supposed to be me- but to be fair, you've said extremely ugly things about me and my family as well.

At the end of the day- I'm a bit of an odd dude..... I don't really know what else to say.

If true that’s pretty messed up. You made numerous racist remarks to forum members. Alternate persona or not it’s not right

I agree- and it's hard to explain- when fulfilling the need for the opposite, you have to go full opposite- things I would never say or do.

This goes for my personal life as well, but I mainly quench that urge here- and it keeps me strait in my personal life.

This didn't start just because I wanted to make history strait/ this started because I messed up and logged into the other account without VPN on- and memcop busted me.....

Never had an alt. Thought about it a couple times, maybe a handle like “ShacklesteinCares” posting about how management actually cares about plebs to rile up the misc but that seems like so much work.

My confession is I have become a lower quality poster over the years. I used to write novels with facts, now it's about an average of 6 sentences and cherry picked facts.
