John Wick 4 sucked.

So disappointed. Okay, maybe it didn't exactly suck. But it wasn't that good. Might be the worst of the 4. Too long. Bloated.

You can tell the director really gained a lot of goodwill with the studio and the suits allowed him to keep so much sh!t in his film. Action scenes in this film run for way too long and started becoming tedious.

The writing for this was a bit goofy. A lot of things didn't make sense.

I can tell the director was kind of done with the series and if this is the last film he would be fine with it. And frankly, I think it should be. They can, and probably will, do one or two more films in the future, but they're really just running on fumes at that point.

I still recommend the film because there's some good ideas here and there. I think Mission Impossible is the only action series to maintain its quality.

Actually it requires no attention span. There is nothing complicated to understand. Guy gets attacked by bad guys. Guy proceeds to shoot and kill bad guys for the next half hour.

First film was just slightly over an hour and a half. Actions scenes were expertly crafted to make sure they were exciting and they also didn't outstay their welcome. JW 4 was a practice in excess. I think had they cut half an hour from this film, it would have been better.

Hate to say it but I've found certain Mission Impossible films to be quite the bore at times. JW delivers all around from start to finish. Dark underworld secret assassin society versus some Inspector Gadget type movies where each one is almost 3 fuking hours long. Yeah.....JW at least has a continual timeline that all relates. MI is similar to FF in that it's just a new bad guy different tech/save the world. JW the same bad guys have always existed within the same universe and aren't just willed into existence after X years later or blah blah. All of the JW movies take place consecutively which makes them more interesting.

That scene where he rolls down the stairs again was lulz tho. Also when they kill the dude and the dog pees on him.

But yea they phoned it in. It was just to get more money.

The humor in JW was believable. Like in JW3 where the bald Asian is acting tough at the hotel but once he's alone he turns out to be such a huge fan of JW's work and is so excited to meet him one on one. I think there are some just okay MI films. But there are some that are just classics. It's hard to beat the first one. Just a slick and stylish spy thriller. And I personally think Rogue Nation is one of the best written action films of the last decade. I also have a feeling that these last two MI films are going to be killers. MI obviously is a lot more complicated in terms of plot than JW. But as long as it's good storytelling, it doesn't matter. I like the different bad guys that are introduced in MI. It keeps it fresh. The first three JW films is actually just one long ass week with the 4th finally taking place a little bit after. So obviously it's going to have continuity. Both are good. Just thought the 4th film was underwhelming in terms of what I was expecting and what I've gotten to know of the series.

Like I stated before, I'm a fan of the John Wick films. But this last one was mind blowing in terms of how unnecessarily bloated it was.

got bored 1/3 the way thru the 2nd one. at that bitch in the bathtub scene. those movies are boring af. its like watching a shooter game highlight video. cool for a few mins but than no thanks jeff

I don't personally care how long a film is. A good movie is a good movie. I remember watching Braveheart and wanting more. And that film is 3 hours long. But when a movie has an already paper thin plot as in John Wick, it becomes a bit tedious to watch when all the film has to offer is action set pieces.

2.5hrs is the sweet spot, TDK, Infinity Wars, MI:Fallout were all that length

3hrs was TDKR, Endgame, the Batman, and they just dragged on forever

I honestly thought that Wick was going to be part of the Matrix because the scenes and ideas are so unrealistic.

They're fun action films with intricate action scenes and choreography. The franchise also set up a very interesting premise about an underworld that exists just below the surface.
