What sucks is well also likely never find the wreckage.
I wonder how body decomposition looks like in that kind of environment assuming it remained intact and sealed

Eventually they would liquify srs. There are photos of people who died in their homes, completely alone, and no one found them for months. They turn to puddles of goo.

Lesson here is people pay $$$ for unique/rare/exclusive experiences so they can satiate their desire to stand out amongst their peers. So strong the desire to differentiate themselves that they develop blindspots to obvious risks.

No different to lesser wealthy people risking financial serfdom paying for lambos, jewelry, property, nfts etc.

Imagine looking at this thing, effectively made out of galvanized steel, freaking trailer bunks and being like…yeah I’ll go 12,000 feet in that.

Yea only difference is this environment is sealed. There's bacteria but it will be essentially oxygen free. Not sure if it changes anything

This guy seems to know a bit about it and he seems to imply they know where it is now.

But it's too late since they ran out of oxygen like 2.5 hours ago

Imagine if they pull it out soon, those 12 hours the people on the surface waited to contact help will have been the difference.

I think the ship is solidly built. And its solidly built by a very small company. What's most impressive is that the ship went down there to 3800km(Titanic) several times without crushing.

The problem is, you need something stronger and reliably engineered once you go that deep if you want to continue going that deep. A one or two time thing in a low budget build is ok but no more than that.

Structural integrity should have been the number one thing for any deep sea ship engineering.

If the missing sub lost comms for an hour which is not even halfway down they would have had to abort and start going back up. This means there is a strong possibility that they floated all the way to the top but never got comms back and are just floating with the current.

Or the ballast that they must release to go back up malfunction never released and just keep descending to the floor with zero comms and no way to get back up.

In the video also they get to the bottom floor but it takes them hours to find the wreckage looking around in darkness being just a few meters away from it the whole time based on sonar and they all cheer when it snaps into view. They could have easily collided it with and damaged the sub or gotten stuck.
Agree with all of this. Zero risk management or awareness; brazen to the point of stupidity, even for "adventurers."
