BREAKING: Biden announces NEW PLAN for student debt relief

https://www.reuters.com/world/us/bid...ce-2023-06-30/

Looks like he's going with the HEA Act strategy. If the supreme court strikes this one down too through that process, then they would be also striking at the PSLF, the program for scam colleges, and many other things that have been built through that same process. It's literally political suicide if this gets rejected.

Biden is a fuking political mastermind and quite possibly one of the most effective presidents of the modern era.

Yes Im sure Biden cooked up this plan all by himself. Mastermind?! The guy has an issue getting dressed in the morning, or drinking water without choking.

Ill give you one thing, you are right. He has been one of the most effective presidents..

Biden’s response to rejection is to try again with a new plan. Trump’s response to rejection is to drop the issue (Healthcare and the wall).

For who?

Seems like the more effective President was the guy who beat your queen and made the courts solid red for a generation of decisions.

And does he plan to pay those who were careful
And likely worked through college to pay off their loans or is this specifically for leeches and gender freaks who find the idea of work abhorrent?

How about small business loans? Mortgages? Car payments? Medical debt? Daycare expenses for young families? What is so unique about student loans that they trump all other debt?

How about those who pinched Pennie’s and payed off their loans?

What will a one time payment do to reduce the impact of student loans long term? About about future college students… too bad so sad you didn’t get in for the one time payment? Is this now an ongoing thing to cripple the economy?

The whole concept isn’t well thought out.

And when this fails, I'm sure OP will make another thread admitting he was wrong to fall for this yet again?

Student loans can't be discharged through bankruptcy - that's the main issue. Student loans are also predatory in nature. Debt cancellation along with reforming college tuition is the way forward.

What are the fiscal repercussions when all of a sudden $500 billion of debt are written off the books?

Pretty much nothing. Correcting Pentagon accounting errors seem to do that every decade or so.

The fact is this is discriminatory.

It discriminates against the people who actually paid back their loans.

IF they want to pass this?

Fine.

Give the money back to the people who paid back their loans since the student loan program started.

Otherwise? It is illegal.

Make it dischargable through bankruptcy then and destroy their credit history. But you ain't getting any cancellations without facing some sort of punishment for your irresponsible decisions.

Cool story then they should take care of my mortgage and credit card debt as well, just an accounting error.

It's almost like Democrats have only been trying to win over votes with something they have no intention of actually implementing.

OP is referring to PERMANENT WASHINGTON, aka the swamp. Biden just knows he wants ice cream at noon and a nap at 3pm. Everything else is him reading lines like a Hollywood actor. Anyway, your loan payment is finally due again in September, OP. Per what Biden is trying to do you may not get your credit score dinged for a year, but the interest has already been accruing for months and will continue growing if you don't pay.

Massive cope. I'm an old chunk of coal that had an HSBC private loan equal to $25K in today's money. I paid it off in 2 years without sacrificing fun and without making a ton of money in my early 20s. If you can't do similar you're a selfish kunt that needs to work more hours per week.

The "plan" he was pitching was designed to fail in the first place. It was for votes.

They will never get rid of student loan debt since the government is a major service provider and now counts on that $ for their pet projects like pushing homosexuality all over the globe

Plus, the banks OWN democrats and they are the ones banking off these loans.

In for some PPP loan cope.
libs still crying about that btw.
it's as if they can't understand the simple differences with PPP and the fact that it kept businesses from folding during the pandemic.

oh wait, they don't have jobs and their parents only shop at Walmart so none of that affects them.
willing to bet if their student loans were forgiven they would still choose to live with parents and continue to not have a job.

which is what this really comes down to.

How do you reform college tuition when the govt backs the loans 100%...meaning, the universities get paid regardless if the borrowers pay it back, because of that, these bastions of preaching socialism are incentivize to keep jacking up their rates...and thats exactly what theyre doing.

Affirmative Action is also racist because the ruling lowers the bar for minorities, with the belief that minorities cannot compete intellectually with whites, otherwise.

So because past loan payers struggled the future generations have to struggle too? This is a petty mindset lol.
