"The traditional markers of financial success—from owning a home to snagging that corner office at work—are becoming not only less attainable but also less valuable for Gen Zers.

Mental well-being, personal growth, and fulfillment are being reprioritized ahead of financial gain: 73% of Gen Z would rather have a better quality of life than extra money in the bank, and 66% are only interested in finances as a way to support their other interests in life.

Gen Zers are increasingly looking for ways to prioritize quality of life over financial achievement at all costs. The TikTok trend of "soft life"—and its financial counterpart "soft saving"—is a stark departure from their millennial predecessors' financial habits, which were rooted in toxic hustle culture and the "Girlboss" era. "

"Growing lifestyle practices like radical rest promote the importance of disconnection with traditional ideals of success and reconnecting with your own well-being by way of self-care and repose. The practice of doing nothing as resistance has taken hold among young people in China as well, through the simple act of tanping—or "lying flat." Examples of this "radical" ideology include not getting married, not having children, not buying a house or a car, and refusing to work extra hours or to hold a job at all. "

Their future sounds so bleak. As a kid, I was told I could do anything, be anything. President. Astronaut. Whatever. I graduated college right when COVID hit and I’m in a great spot job wise right now. Lucky/privileged for sure. Life is only comfortable if you have money, and I personally wouldn’t have kids unless I knew I could provide the best resources to them.

But these poor kids? Holy fuk many of them are in public high schools and being brainwashed to accept LGBTQ and drag queens. I’ve seen these teachers nowadays, they are absolute clowns. The whole system is massive failure. Gen z was never promised a future like those born before mid-90s. If they work hard and go to college they know it might not count for anything. I feel that they’re also not being mentored on easily attainable career paths or trades or jobs. it’s scary.

Fukkin ph@g60ts. What do these people prefer, the genocides, mass starvations, and firing lines of "early stage communism" or something? Retards.

sounds like a peaceful lifestyle....i've lived it for a long time but i did make enough money to see me through the rest of my life first.

couldn't imagine doing it broke unless you just live with your parents forever then inherent their house...in that case yeah, you can just piddle around doing random jobs once in a while for spending money.

a person living with their parents with no car and doing nothing basically exists for the costs of food every month like a pet....maybe a few bucks extra on the water bill.

small mind. this is bad for all considering this is the next generation of leaders. defeated and government dependent.

also, there is a reason for this that's out of their control entirely.

Mental well-being? Good luck with that. Most of them can’t even decide which bathroom to use without having a break down.

People are gonna laugh it off as Gen Z being weak pussies (which is true), but when a whole generation suddenly isn't motivated and gives up, clearly the incentives have changed as well. It's lazy to say a whole generation "just gave up" with no cause.

The breakdown of male-female and familial relationships being the most powerful incentive and targeted for destruction.

My point exactly, blaming someone else, for being the weakest, most pathetic fragile generation in history.

CPD had to lower their physical standards, because 75% of 21 year olds couldn't pass the POWER test.

Something like 73% of 18-21 year olds couldn't join the military even if they wanted to.

College professors convinced gen Z that they were victims and hopelessly oppressed. They fell for it and now have given up on life. Shocker.
