They started the day before during a storm. There is satellite imagery and lighting strike data showing this but of course the breathless CT kooks won't spoon feed it to you. Pretty fascinating look at the power of suggestion.

The fires only got big enough to be visible from weather satellite the next day. The "clear skies" you see in the picture are due to strong winds from the north, pushing away remnants of the storm and feeding/spreading the fires.

So many locations across Quebec at the exact same time means this was organized by a group, so yes it's a real conspiracy.

Proof that they all started at the exact same time is where? The video you posted is not proof, BTW

it's not difficult - there are federal camp grounds in the US that are 100s of miles from the nearest road, but you can still take a truck or SUV there. Seeing this the Canadian forest, probably an atv/utv or a horse for a portion.

I agree that a lot of forest fires are caused by human activity (up to 80% in some areas) but ITT people seem to think thatall of the fires were man made and that they all started at the exact same time for some nefarious purpose. It's nonsense.

https://montrealgazette.com/news/loc...ning-in-quebec
...

“It is historical,” said Karine Pelletier, a spokesperson for the Société de protection des forêts contre le feu (SOPFEU), responsible for forest fires in the province. “We have never seen that number of fires at the same time.”

The number is due to “all the ingredients being there simultaneously,” she said. “Very low humidity, no rain, strong winds and many thunderstorms and lightning strikes.”

...
Here's a map of fires across Canada:

Surely you don't think these were all started by people for nefarious purposes???

honestly I am not following the story closely enough to have an opinion on who may or may not have started fires. But being a remote area is not a reason to believe it to not be arson in my eyes.

I don't dispute there could have been some arson. People here are claiming they're all man made and all started at the same time (which is false). Given the remoteness it's very unlikely that this is some nefarious plot.

Solid logic for a single fire.

Here we have multiple fires across a huge area that correlate with the record of lightning strikes.

I disagree - I think the remoteness of the starting point leans more towards intentional and nefarious arson

For what nefarious reason(s) exactly?

Wondering why you're discounting that fires correspond to lightning strikes in a lot of cases?

How do you reject the data on lightning strikes that match the location of each fire?

Scroll down through this article and the entire satellite image loop is shown with lighting and fire data overlayed.

I don't know, the same nefarious reasons people start any wildfire intentionally.

Quebec - seems unlikely even with a drought and lightning strikes, it's a different type of forest

So they are nefarious in your eyes but you don't know why. Strange.

Different type of forest than where? Ontario, NY state, Nova Scotia, Vermont??

You do know that forest fires happen annually across Canada, yes? There are fires in Nova Scotia and Alberta and Ontario too. Were these nefarious arson too?

I don't know people's motives when they do stuff.

Different type of forest than what lightning strikes usually cause forest fires in. So for there to then be so many and simultaneously seems off. If we were seeing unique patterns in other less remote areas, it would seem less off.

Am aware yes. Some of them have been, yes.

Lightning causes (and has caused) many forest fires in Quebec year after year after year. There's nothing special about the forest there that inhibits lightning strike caused fires. Same type of forest as in parts of Ontario and Nova Scotia that also succumbs to lightning strikes.

What is different this year is abnormally warm and dry and windy conditions. You think may be a factor or nah?

I find this explanation to be far more reasonable than people allegedly traveling hundreds of miles to remote areas through thick forest with no roads to purposely start dozens and dozens of fires for no apparent reason. But you do you, it's all good.

You're right, it doesn't specifically say that there. Many other articles do, though. Did you read Seatard's article? It's explained in there.

Translation of tweet:

The figures speak for themselves concerning the forest-weather conditions that prevailed in the month of May in the intensive protection zones (IPZ) west and central in Qc. Either the indices were the most severe recorded since 1950, or they are in the > 75th percentile

Now? Most of the fires are burning uncontrolled because of lack of firefighting resources. Uncontrolled fires tend to spread, as you should know.

Again, QC forests are little different from those of neighboring provinces that are also burning (mostly from lightning strikes). There was a fire east of Ottawa (about 60 miles east) that was intentionally set but most are from lightning strikes.

Yup. But they can get pretty damn big, costing Billions in damage. It's a damn shame forest management is so often put on the backburner, because the fires end up being terrible.

Guys, it is completely natural for fires to spontaneously start in unison hundreds of miles from each other on a nice sunny cloudless day

Environmentalists have been arrested and convicted for arson in remote areas to draw people's attention to climate change, it's not farfetched.
