"Retiring Cheap" is the biggest COPE. BRUTAL BLACKPILL REALITY CHECK
It's cope.
Like students in college who are brokecels, and eat rice and beans. "You don't need more and millions of people live off rice and beans and lentils, lol".
Like poorcels who don't enjoy food in general. "You spent 3000 dollars on dinner for two at Masa? What a waste, totally not worth it."
Like folks who are antisocial rejects from society. "I can't stand it if someone says hello to me as I walk down the street. Leave me alone!!!"
Like those whose singular pleasure in life is to 'be cheap'. "Why order a whopper when you could get two whopper jrs for less and be more full!11'.
The above represents a very low class of person. Ironically, these are the dregs of society trying to give financial advice / predictions to other posters. They are invariably: (i) unemployed; (ii) poorly educated (see (i)); (iii) divorced or unable to maintain a long term committed relationship with another human being; (iv) seethe when they see their betters flourishing in life; and (v) copecels - coping left and right.
You can see it in thousands of posts on this very forum over the past few weeks.
My advice to the folks this applies to: try to improve yourself. Most folks here can see who the uneducated plebcels are, so your LARPing delusions of grandeur and fame fall flat on their face.
Ta.

If you can't spend without even thinking twice about it you're poor srs
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

Who are you trying to convince with your post? I've no problem with those who choose to sacrifice for the almighty dollar.

Pls tell, highly educated specimen that you are.

Why in the world would it be cope for me? I enjoy my life. Point out the cope.
My life and peace revolve around God. It is He who I sacrifice for, and it is He has provided me a very blessed life. I owe it to no other.

There are rich folks who have done a ton of good in this world too - and there's cope ITT already without realizing that high income folks can also be folks that contribute enormous sums of money to charitable causes.
See? Open your eyes, before preaching your faith to others.

I have NO PROBLEM with how other make their money let alone how they spend it.
It seems you are the one triggered by those who don't pursue the same sacrifice you do. Why concern yourself with those who found happiness in retiring cheap?
EDIT: You seem overly concerned about others' opinions on your choice of money spending. Why is that?

1. I don't 'take offense' to anything;
2. I am pointing out, with that example, that a person's subjective take on 'value' is made 'objective' by that person who needs to cope for a number of different reasons, including some that amount to 'checking out' by 'retiring cheap'.
Hope that clarifies the OP, which you should perhaps read a second or third time since you clearly couldn't understand that the first.
I wonder why it is so hard for poorer folks to understand. Or could it perhaps be there's a strong correlation between education, income, and participation in society? Hrm.
And what 'status quo' do you refer to?

"Sacrifice" it what we all do. It has no more weight than saying the sky is blue, roses are red, etc. We choose to sacrifice our time for certain objectives to reach goals and happiness.
If we didn't sacrifice, then we'd live in a world were everything was gained for nothing. That is all. We all sacrifice something. You , me, miscers, etc. It's not a big deal, but you are making the word "sacrifice" as it's something special. Hint: It isn't.

OP, yes. I could, if I wanted to, essentially retire cheap right now. I could just live off of PhD scholarships forever.
But what kind of life does 30k a year afford, just for the sake of retiring early? None. 30k a year gets you rent and food. Nothing else.
Man was meant to work and be productive. Having nothing to do all day for decades on end only being able to afford to perpetuate that useless existence....depression will be inevitable.

So you contrast working for a living with your faith - how bizarre. Those posters ITT projecting 'upset' seem upset themselves by the very examples in my OP.
Google Masa NYC, and see how much dinner costs there per person. It's the best sushi you can get on this planet outside of Japan, though almost as expensive as flying to Tokyo from NYC (economy), eating sushi there, and flying back.
"Consumerism" by the way, not sure why the hammer and sickle crew think they can spell words differently at will.

Some of us look at life and decide what it is we truly want then do what we have to do to obtain it while slaving the least amount of time. Others look at life more arbitrarily with the perspective that they want as much as they can get.

Do you even know what you are arguing about? Yes, I brought up sacrifice because it's what we all do. I'm not judging what other sacrifice for. Spending time to make money is sacrifice. Spending money is sacrifice. No, 'sacrifice' was brought into this thread by you, referring to the "almighty dollar", a weak play on words considering you only "sacrifice" for "your god".

Money for some is their love, because it buys them what they love, or they wouldn't be doing it, right? If someone wants to sacrifice their time to make money, to spend their money on a $3000 dinner to make them happy, then all the more power to them. They shouldn't concern themself with some anonymous miscers on an internet forum opinion on that. You honestly sound "mad" about it to make a post about it. You did start this thread, no?
All I am saying is that the counter to your opinion is that.. nah, it ain't cope. I'm not mad about your post, I just don't see any factual basis on it.
So I ask, where's the cope?
I'm not blessed with riches, but I am rich with blessings.
Thank you, LORD, my God.

Imagine suggesting an elevated life, which focuses on a life of inactivity, 10s of thousands of posts in the same vein over a decade. Sometimes throwing 'faith' into it, as an elevated life.
Then consider:
But judging by the replies ITT, some folks just won't get it.

Time rich Ballin' on a "budget" infuriates some people. Seething they are. It's like some of us choose to not play their game and they can't take it.
