I said "maybe". It was a suggestion. An idea. That's all. No need to make a mountain out of a molehill.

Also, I already posted my opinions multiple times in the thread. I didn't randomly pop in just to make that one comment. Context, bro. Context.

I've been to 2 dry weddings...One was pretty awful the reception was pretty much people standing around after dinner on their phones, and talking to only people they knew. The dance floor was pretty empty for the most part lol.

The other one was pretty fun actually it was a muslim wedding, and the food was great, and they even had some dancers. Met some people there, and we went to the bars after to drink lol.

Nothing wrong with dry weddings, it's their choice, but I find a dry wedding on a boat a pretty bad idea. Lol I don't think most people would enjoy being on a boat sober especially around some people they might not even know lol just seems like it would be really awkward. Me personally I wouldn't go or would pregame before lol.

Everyone is saying the alcoholcels are all defensive but how? It's absolutely what's to be expected by social standards in nearly every country at a wedding. No one cares if you don't drink. That's fine. But people will care if there's a strict no booze policy. Drinkers don't feel the need to justify our decisions because society isn't judging us, drinking at a wedding is totally normal and even generally expected.

The only ones thinking deeply about it are the non drinkers... The rest of us just go have some drinks and a good time and don't think twice. The defensive people are the ones in here calling others addicts simply because we expect booze at a wedding lmao. All of sudden that makes us dependent on booze otherwise we can't function in society or have any fun... Lmao pls, this is huge cope. It's not that deep to a normal person... it's that deep to someone who needs to justify their reason not to drink.
Degeneracy is the norm, it's the easy path. Most people are cowards, and alcohol gives them the courage to be themselves, and that self is usually awful. I'm all for people doing what they want, but alcohol is a net negative for society.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

a lot of you boozecells need to watch this

some of the comments here are shocking.

"I cannot sit through a wedding without being drunk"

really? you cant eat a meal with family and friends without drinking? You can't chat with cousins and extended family you havent seen in years without being drunk? Not just one time? Of course I get you prefer to have drinking at a wedding, but its such a deal breaker you would consider never showing up or purposely downgrading whatever gift you were planning to give?

Why is alcohol having such a positive impact on your life you cannot fathom doing something without it.

Is this how you cope? Making up scenarios where people don't want to have sex unless they drink alcohol? Who tf says they don't want to have sex unless they are drunk lmao

Fkn lol nothing mental gymnastics for people justifying sobriety. No one cares that you don't drink except for you.

We aren't even talking about raging alcohol use, the thread is about just having a dry wedding and how it would be boring. Normal people can drink at an event like a wedding and arent all fukkin weird about it.

Some of yall genuinely sound unbearable to party with, imagine thinking you're better than anyone cause you can't handle drinking alcohol once in a while without your entire mental state collapsing. It's so weird to think you are superior because you can't handle drinking.

No they can't. There's a fair bit of research available on this. "Normal" people who drink increase their consumption over a lifetime. Sure, some people may never become fall down drunks, but everyone who drinks is headed that way.

It's an addictive chemical. What part of that is difficult to understand?

There seems to be a mix up between drinking and getting drunk. Two very different scenarios and any self respecting adult knows the difference.

People who don't drink are either socially awkward or alcoholics?

You might have actually won the cope award ITT. And that's in a thread full of terminal cope. Srs.

I see a lot of holier than though people in this thread posting about the virtues of not drinking at a wedding (or not drinking period).

What prudes you people are. So judgemental.

You all sound like Vegan cells. Look at MEEEEEEEE. I don't drink!

Screw people who are trying to shove THEIR VALUES AND WEAKNESSES...IE CAN'T HANDLE ALCOHOL OR AN ALCOHOLIC OR DON'T LIKE IT FOR WHATEVER REASONS.

Alcohol is not coca cola. It isn't meth. It's just a beer or some wine or some vodka.

Wow such danger!!! Such risk!!!

How about some people who have to go to a wedding who just want to actually loosen up and enjoy themselves after a week of work and having to be on a boat for a wedding than many probably don't even want to be at but do out of respect for the bride and groom?

My advice is just bring your own alcohol. Either bring a cooler full of beers to bring on the boat or bring some flasks of hard liquor.

Exactly. Most people I know who drink do so to relax and loosen up a bit.

I can't even remember the last time I saw a person knocked out staggering drunk.

Okay look at it like this alcoholcels. I think drinking alcohol is stupid. It's bad for your brain. It's bad for your liver. It's bad for you in general.

Let's look at it from another point of view. Imagine you guys told me shoes were stupid, do you think I'd react with as much passion as you alcoholcels?

No, I'd laugh and say whatever.

But the fervor with which you're defending something that you claim is no big deal shows me that deep down you know we're right.

Bro the mental gymnastics that are needed to compare consuming alcohol at a wedding to wearing shoes is just the copiest of cope I've ever seen

You sound crazy. As in bat **** insane.

Do you know how many things a day that you do that are bad for your brain? Heart? Liver? Body?

To single out a once in a few weeks drinking at a wedding as being the death of you?

You might as well be a leftist woke purple haired VEGAN lib because the over reaction is 10/10.
