Aren't you like 5'6"? Despite what some miscers say, you shouldn't try frauding your height by much. You can realistically pull off lying by about 1".

Especially the shorter a guy is, the less he can get away with lying about height. Why? Because the shorter you are (namely under 6'0"), the closer you get in height to a lot of women, so they'll notice height frauding more than if a 6'6" guy claimed 6'8" or something. Not to mention, tons of women are taller than 5'6", and most these days are at least within a few inches of that height. Think of how bad you'd look if you ever actually met up with one of these women who are like 5'2" - 5'6" while being 5'6" yourself after claiming you were 5'9". Good luck getting a second date based on the lying alone.

Not gonna lie though, I'd feel really bad for a dude who is 5'6" hoping for much success on dating aps these days. You're gonna need a ton of patience for that to work out for you unless you have a great face/body beyond that and are in a big enough area for there to be a decent amount of women who are significantly shorter (say 4'11" - 5'3").

I know times have changed on the apps, but the most success I've had was when I frauded as 6 feet. So I dont think they can tell from the pics, and even if they can its still worth doing so you aren't filtered out on height alone.

I mean I dont have that much success in general, but I've definitely been on some dates where I claimed 6 feet, showed up, and the woman didnt seem to care. Had a normal solid date. a few times got a second.

A lot of women would be pissed, but some of them know guys fraud and dont really care that much I think.

Dude when you're in your 30's you need to learn to take the reigns of getting women on your own. Can't rely on buddies to play wingman for you forever. That's a good way to stay single for a long time.

Honestly the only reason you need "wingmen" at bars is to not look like a loser drinking by yourself alone there. The idea of relying on them for anything beyond that always seemed weird to me.

That being said, if I were in OP's situation - and based on how he's talking - his best play would be to just get some seriously thick skin about rejection and aim for women that aren't the hottest. That's just reality. Dude could find some nice 4'11" girl to settle down with someday if he plays his cards right, srs.

Wingmen are still helpful, but I find the older you get, the situation changes. It's no longer bars or night clubs. It's social group gatherings. If you have a hobby, then you find a group that participates in it, or a volunteer group, etc. Basically, putting yourself out there socially in a setting that allows you to meet people outside the bars and nightclubs. Wingmen can get feelers out there for you.

I mean, I'm a "boomer". If I go to a bar or nightclub, I'm not seeing people my age there. Maybe a hole-in-the-wall bar, but they are usually washed up, already drunk before they even enter the door, and at the edge of suicide/depression.

I meet more people this way than on apps.

I dont rely on them, I've been barmaxxing solo. Just the only way they'd even think about going to closing time is if I made a point to ask for help.
